The goal could easily force Nani into Ferguson's starting line-up againt Reading on Sunday but, with Sir Alex Ferguson due back in the dugout at Old Trafford, it seems a fair bet the Portugal international will not be repeating the acrobatics.
A packed Oval, drawn by the most glamorous visitors possible to celebrate their 125th anniversary, were treated to a majestic United stroll.
But the crowd were denied the opportunity of seeing Cristiano Ronaldo, who pulled out with a minor ankle injury.
It took just five minutes for United to seize the initiative, Lee Martin snapping up possession following Colin Nixon's mistake, then floating over a cross which Frazier Campbell expertly volleyed home.
Campbell has impressed during United's pre-season campaign, even if the striker will have to wait until the Reds venture into the Carling Cup next month before he tastes senior action again.
Pass
It was Campbell who supplied the final pass for his side's second goal, laying the ball off to an overlapping Patrice Evra, who belted home.
With just 14 minutes on the clock it looked like becoming a humiliating landslide for the Glens on their historic night.
Thankfully, Michael Dougherty made a couple of timely saves, allowing the Northern Irish outfit to build something of a defensive barricade.
They needed it too as Nani, Anderson and Michael Carrick weaved pretty patterns outside the box.
Despite the pressure, Glentoran did manage a couple of attacks themselves, Daryl Fordyce bravely throwing himself at one Gary Hamilton cross, only to connect firmly with the far post rather than the ball.
The first-half highlight came 10 minutes before the break as Nani fired home in impressive fashion.
Having apparently heeded Sir Alex's advice to stop his trademark celebrations, it was something of a surprise to see Nani complete his celebrated double somersault.
The second period, which saw Glentoran field almost a completely different side, was a fairly uneventful, although Nemanja Vidic was forced off after taking a blow to his head.
Paul Leeman did hook Martin's effort off the line and China international Dong Fangzhou was also off target after being presented with a decent opportunity.
Would you start with Nani on Sunday? Have your say.

One moment told a lot for me, and it was 1st half i think, Utd broke with Anderson who played a ball to Nani, looking for a 1-2. Had Nani played it back then Anderson would have literally only had the keeper in front of him, about 35 yards out, but Nani didnt even look, he tried to beat his man and lost it. Anderson wasn't a happy camper! It was just a relatively minor thing but it suggests to me that Nani probably needs a bit more finishing than Anderson i terms of decision making and fitting in with the team.
Theyre both fantastic prospects. I though Martin did very too. He could certainly be one to feature this season too.

I haven't seen a lot of Nani before, to be fair, but he's already looking like a hell of a player.
It's inevitable that he gets compared to Ronaldo but, IMO, he reminds a lot more of Simao. He's a bit more direct than Ronnie, usually keeps things simple and not such an out-and-out speed-merchant. His goal was an absolute peach, by the way.

I think Nani was excellent thru out, and was a constant threat. It was interesting to see Anderson and Carrick playing together. Even tho Anderson was supposed to be in a withdrawn role, he seemed to happy to drop back into midfield. During the first half in particular he was everywhere and was very Scholes-like in his play. He relly seemed as if he really enjoyed creating rather than goal scoring because he did'nt make to many breaks into the box. He seems extremely strong and was able to retain the ball under pressure. Imo he seemed to have a quieter 2nd half and looked as if he was trying to push Carrick further forward while he dropped into CM.
Evra just seems to get better and better as an attacking full-back. He seems to have a touch of the Roberto Carlos about him. Simpson had a steady game at the other fullback position. However I was really impressed with Martin on the wing. He seems to be relishing the thought of playing with Nani and Ronny this season. The boy showed some fantastic skills and was also at the heart of the good things Utd did.
This season I'll be shocked if Martin, Eagles, Simpson and Gibson don't feature at some time this season. Considering Fletch is been touted as the next best thing, these boys surely should be challenging for a first team place also. Along with the likes of Campbell, Welbeck and Brandy we have the nucleus of a quality team for the next 10 years.
Peace

Nani took his goal superbly and I was also quite impressed with Martin who chased everything and put some decent balls in. Second half was a complete non event; being 3-0 up and very comfortable the lads didn't need to exert themselves.

It's good to see Nani looking like he's going to settle. It's great to see that Frazier Campbell is getting a 'run'! whenever I've seen him play at RC.Antwerp he's looked sharp and keen.
Hope that SAf & Cathy are settled in new house now!!
