New duo poised for Posh

MANCHESTER United's new signings Owen Hargreaves and Anderson could be in line to make their debuts for the club on Saturday.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson might call on both midfielders for the friendly against his son Darren's Peterborough at London Road.

Hargreaves is on the mend following a knee injury while Anderson has been away on international duty with Brazil.

Peterborough boss Ferguson told the Evening Telegraph: "Owen is training this week and if he comes through unscathed he could be here on Saturday.

"There's a chance we could get Anderson and (Ole Gunnar) Solskjaer as well.

"I'll know for sure later in the week but if players like that turn out, it should be a great occasion."

Peterborough have sold more than 9,000 tickets for the match even though United are due to face Chelsea in the Community Shield the following day.

Surely this is a perfect occasion for young Rossi to make an appearance - unless of course he'll be figuring in the Community Shield. It worries me that OGS is being talked about as if he may be a key squad member this season. We all love Ole and he is a United legend but he cannot now be considered as a frontline squad member - a back-up, peripheral player with some training input would be a more sensible role based on his current ability.

On something of a tangent, I just returned from the wilds of Shropshire where they're advertising Ludlow FC versus United Legends. Included in the latter was Carlo Satori!! Shurely shome mishtake? How old must he be?

Anderson, Ronaldo, Rooney, Saha, Giggs, Nani and Tevez (Fingers crossed).. our attack is going to have some Va Va Voombut with high skill too. Really pleased Saha stayed because he offers a real threat in the air too. Looking forward to the season....
