Tevez is currently at the centre of a major transfer wrangle with present club West Ham and the Premier League refusing to sanction a move to Old Trafford even though terms have been agreed with the player's agent Kia Joorabchian.
Having only allowed Tevez to play in the final three games of last season because a so-called 'third-party agreement' between West Ham and Joorabchian had been ripped up, the Premier League are anxious the Hammers should be the main financial beneficiaries of any move.
However, Joorabchian is adamant Tevez remains his property and any financial windfall should come to him.
United legal expert Maurice Watkins has been left to find a solution to the impasse, with the Old Trafford club anxious to push through a deal quickly.
Sources close to the Red Devils are confident a compromise can be reached by the time Tevez’s current commitments with Argentina at the Copa America are concluded at the weekend.
And Ferguson is certain the 23-year-old former Corinthians star will finally join his squad.
“I am sure the outcome will be that we will be taking him,” said the United boss.
Argument
“I thought it was going to be done by last weekend. Everything seemed perfectly okay, so the hold-up must be with the Premier League.”
United are at a loss to understand why the Tevez move has stalled given the contract drawn up is almost exactly the same as the one which saw Javier Mascherano move from West Ham to Liverpool in January.
The Premier League’s argument is that since Mascherano’s Upton Park exit, an independent commission has ruled the Argentina pair’s Hammers’ contracts were in breach of regulations.
Having authorised Tevez to play in the final three games of last season - and play a major role in keeping the Upton Park outfit in the Premier League - on the basis that the agreement with Joorabchian had been ripped up, it would now involve a major climbdown - and the possibility of legal action from relegation Sheffield United - if officials were to accept the Iranian businessman retains control of the player.
The matter could yet end up in the courts, or require the involvement of FIFA, although Ferguson insists United will not submit to anything ’underhand’.
“We are following the procedure of Javier Mascherano,” he said.
“The essential thing for us is that everything is agreed.
“We want complete clarity in the deal, with no suspicions or anything dodgy. There is no way we will be involved in anything underhand.”

As there has been no cash transaction between them sooooo therefore MSI must still hold his registration....am I right. Therefore the same would apply to deal that took mascherano to the bindippers....how can WHU 'sell' on a loan player and when the scousers come to buy said player WHU take the money for someone they haven't paid for....yep this is really laughable there is an awful lot of dirty laundry between the PL and the hammers!
I would send them down two divisions!

The League will do everything to stop the transfer, and Sheffield United will be watching very carefully.

When was the last time a decent youth player got in the side?
Everytime the competition might progress, you just swoop in and take their best players. Chelsea too. The Prem league is a joke. A long long way from Sir Matt...no achievement or honour in winning like this...

thought not
I dont want or mean to carry this one on but lets face it your club has been the dregs for the last decade and you are going nowhere fast. just look at ch£l$ki..... with all of their russian roubles they have only achieved 2 EPL titles in the last four seasons. you will achieve nothing in four seasons due to the fact that
a) you have a very weak team to "rebuild" (haha)
b) your "star" players all get sold to the highest paying suitor so basically they dont care about the culture or history of your club (if there is any) and your club doesnt care about its players (hmmmmm that seems like a good formula)
c) I take the same amount of time laughing at your new manager is as I do laughing at your pathetic club - he really suits the citeh mould - an old, rubbish establishment with a lucky history.
d) your hilarious new owner has had over a billion pounds seized from him which would normally ring alarm bells - i.e. would you go and buy some dregs football club if you had just lost even ten million?? - nope - this means he is panic buying in an attempt to rip you off totally and gain some face back in his circle of mega wealthy friends.
e) you comment on united pages still bcos u still know how inferior you are.

Tevez will never fit into the team, it will be anarchy at OT if he plays with Ronaldo, Rooney & Hargreaves.
Watching Ronaldo and Tevez, will be like watching to greedy schoolkids trying to out do each other.
Its going to be tears this season. Forget it and move on.

My one concern is keeping these guys happy. Richardson and Smith MUST be sold to ensure enough opportunities for rotation. And Nani and Anderson will be limited to a handful of starts I think, although I expect both to get a good cup run.
