MORTEN Gamst Pedersen's agent claims United have been monitoring the Blackburn winger.

The Reds have just completed a big-money triple swoop for Nani, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves so a move for the Norwegian seems unlikely.

However, his agent Rune Hauge reckons the Reds, along with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, are all interested.

Hauge told Dagbledet: "All the big five follow Morten's situation. We are in contact with the clubs. Morten plays in a special position on the left and can play as well both in 4-3-3 and 4-4-2.

"The big ones might not have space for players of his type and we might see players in that position leave some of the clubs in the coming weeks."

I would definetely not see Morten Gamst as a United-player, despite the fact that he's a United-fan.

I can't see in which way he can contribute to this United-side, which biggest attacking strengths is pace and flair, qualities Morten Gamst doesn't possess.

A fairly good player, though, with a quality left-foot, but that's not all what it takes to be potential United-material.

Anyway this is pure speculation by the Norwegian
media, who all the time tries hype up avarage-Joes like Riise and Gamst Pedersen.

not sure we should waste money on him now we have nani! anderson can play lw if needs be. gamst doesnt have many good games except against united!

If we offloaded richardson he could replace him, but would it be worth it for us shelling out 10million for a sub if nani takes Giggs place, maybe on the right hand side for Ronaldo's back up if we sold park.

Agreed. Pederson has managed to stay relatively under the radar, but I fear his move to one of the big four is inevitable. Prior to the Nani/Anderson coup, I had him as my #1 target as a Giggsy replacement. It's not likely that he'll end up at United, but I've seen reports linking him with the damn Scousers...ugg.

bit of a non story really. with our recent acquisitions, we seem to be well covered on the wings now....nice try though, i suppose the agents just doing his job. shame the MEN felt it was worthy of a headline story...

You could say everyone in the premiership has been monitored by UNITED.It doesn't really mean that much.Judgeing by our recent signings our ambitions are higher than Pedersen.

For ages ive allways said we should have signed him ,and we should still even now to bolster the side even further,i beleive you cant have to many class players,for sure he wont go to tottenham.
Demmo you said he doesnt have good games against man utd well remember him taking the micheal and scoring 2 against us with flair and ease ,as i do.
Hes a man utd player through and through,sparky would sooner do a deal with us than other clubs.
Hes can play a blinder as a striker too as well as midfield.

He will go to a club where he can play on the first XI. Not to MU's bench. The only think that he can improve MU is that he's excellent with free kicks.

Yes it's true United had been watching him, but we have signed the winger we really wanted!
Yes Nani has landed!
In the future we have also Eagles and a fully fit Park to look to.

Rubbish! agents aren't managers. Nonetheless we had him on our bags two years ago, only for SAF to set back at the 11 hour. Now that he grew up in stature, we would pay ridiculous amount! btw, please stop undermining KR, he's a Manchester United player, if we have to sell him, the club will do, but as long as he's wearing our shirt, he deserves the same support as Rooney, Ronaldo and Co

with nani and anderson in the fold i cant seen united going for him,we still have park tho. i rem we had the chance to sign him when we was still playing in norway,and when he make his debut against us he was poor,how much that has changed.good player but united united wont need him

You can rule us, Chelsea and Arsenal out, Mr. Agent. Your client will go to Spurs (90%) or Liverpool (10%) since the latter seem to be eyeing David Silva and/or Malouda.

Agent talk, I smell a wage demand lurking in the background. If have to spend more which hoefully we do, then it has to be a striker (Eto'o, Hunterlaar, Torres or Anelka if none of the others are available) our midfield praise the lord, is starting to look a little bit crowded. :-)

this would be good business for me; i rate him highly and along with benny mcarthy are amongst the most under rated talents in the league! He is a good wide player either side can play up front or centre mid; shoots like a cannonball and works like a trojan; in addition unlike nanni and anderson has proved himself in the premiership already!!

Gamst is alright for adding depth in width to the squad. BUT that is NOT what we need.
If we hadn't signed Nani & Anderson, perhaps an option, but surplus to requirements at this stage of pre-season prep.

Let's see, we have Giggsy, Nani, CRon, Anderson, Park. 5 strong wing players. Eagles, KR (if still around)for extra cover.

We should have gone for Pedersen before Blackburn ended up signing him - he made an instant impact in the Premiership and his quality of set-piece delivery is one thing we definitely have been lacking post-Beckham.

I would still love it if we signed him, but we would then have to sell Giggs, which might not be a bad thing. We would then have Pedersen and Nani fighting for / rotating in the left midfield position.

demmo i disagree my mate follows b.burn and says his work rate is 110% every match,his goals are amazing when he scores them and trying to get the ball of him isnt that easy either,his passing is second to none.
Id sign him .

Has proved himself a decent player. Looks like we are going for potentially great though which is much better. Not good enough but decent player hard working or not.

of course..But competition is too rude at united..Better keep the money for one player like scholes..
We still miss David..Ronaldo is good but he dnt know how to score on free kicks
