The 26 year-old Cameroon striker insists he has heard nothing of a possible transfer to the Premiership, despite reports in England linking the three-time African Footballer of the Year with a summer move to United and Liverpool.
However, Eto'o did not rule out a move to the Premiership in future.
"I have not heard anything. These kind of things are usually just speculation and don't come through to me. I am happy at Barcelona and will definitely be here next season," he said at an event run by the www.feelfootball.com debate website on Tuesday.
"I have no idea where I will be in a few years time, but at the moment I have a contract with Barcelona until 2010.
"There have been so many lies written about me. In fact, I would say that 99.999% of the things I have read about myself in the papers have been untrue."
Eto'o fell out with Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard earlier this season after refusing to come on as a late substitute against Racing Santander.
However, the African forward insists he is happy at the Nou Camp and reiterated his desire to stay at Barcelona.
"Like I said, I am happy here. There is no problem, no crisis. The press can write what they want, but I am staying," he added.
Do you think Eto'o will ever play for United? Have your say.

Only in a Larsson role in 7 years time!
I hope he doesn't go anywhere. We can't afford him but he would be the perfect signing for Chavski or the dippers.
No. Our days of shopping at Harrods are over. & At least it'll stop a load of garbage being wriiten on here now. We'll be looking for a striker generated/funded by sales - so i reckon circa 10 mill !!
he would be a fantastic signing but not realistic! would cost us our entire transfer budget and we need a left winger pronto
All Eto'o is saying is that please put in a bid and these rumours will then be reality. Since I am happy at Barca you have to cough enough to price me away but I am gonna leave this play one day if you want to get me as a Robbie Fowler. So if we want him, get him and use Saha as a part-payment or just go for broke. Chelsea are calling back Crespo so they are not buying Eto'o too.
Agree with Mick and Balders, he won't be coming to OT. Why would Barca sell him?? And if they sold him Chelsea would surely outbid us. Huntelar or Alves are more realistic targets.
Seriously now, did anyone ever truly believe that we were after him?
There was never a hope in hell we were gonna sign him. Mainly because he's not gonna be sold! Thats generally a pretty big barrier to get over!
Also as i said a few wks back, i cant in my time supporting Utd remember us signing a world class forward at the top of his game. I'm not saying we've not have great strikers, but we dont, for lack of a better analogy, shop at Harrods. RVN - a world class striker without doubt, but not when we got him. Ronney likewise. Yorke and Cole were both great players for us, but you wouldnt compare signing them to signing Eto'o from Barca or that kind of thing.
I'm not saying that this approach is a bad thing as its usually a bit cheaper to get the players before they peak, i'm just saying that its the reason why we were never going to sign Eto'o. Its also why I believe Huntelaar is a serious possibility. Berbatov would, for me, come into the Eto'o category in terms of profile and ability and its why i dont think we'll get him
birdy cole and yorkie were a magnificent partnership, we need to find a partner for wayne. we need a saha clone who will play a lot more often.
It's not a matter of who we want to sign but who wants to sell. If Barca don't wish to sell Eto'o then no amount of money will prise him away, not even a big fat chelskov wedge. We all know that Huntelaar has beeb watched quite a lot recently, he's fast, stong & scores hatfuls of goals. A definite purchase imo & we'd better move fast as 1 paper has quoted Benitez as sniffing around.
Bobby were it not for fitness concerns i'd go for Michael Owen. I thought they linked very very well for England. Actually, if we bought Owen for 9m as is the reported get out fee, thats quite a resonable price. If we bought him and also kept Saha, then surely to God 1 of them would be fit at any given time. i think they could also probably play together if required. Hadnt looked at it that way. Warming to the thoughts of Owen now.
As Bobbydazzler said he can be the "Saha clone" we need to replace Rooney but will the Glazers fork out the cash? I do not think so.
As for Barcelona, I do think they might be tempted to part with either Ronaldinho or Eto if they land Henry. Ronaldinho was linked to Milan but now it seems that they will be getting Shevchenko back from Chelsea if they agree on the fee. This will be bad news for us as it will mean that Chelsea will probably get Eto.
Not in the slightest interest in eto, over priced, and not too many goals for his price tag.
Give me klose and day or inzage, for the right price these players are well worth the price tag.
In fact tierry henry is a better player and totally wasted at arsenal.
Re: my previous comment. I did not mean "to replace Rooney" but to play alongside Rooney.
birdy dont count your chickens we started this season with 3 injured strikers i hope to god we dont repeat it next year.
No i don't think he will for a couple of reasons.
1.Barca wont let him go (unless for big bucks) as they are a far better side with him in it.
2.He would cost too much
3.And as brilliantly stated we don't shop at Harrods - where everything is overpriced, we'll leave that for Chelski.
That was not an invitation to start slagging off Hargreaves and/or his fee, you must have had enough by now surely.
Good striker and as mentioned if barca wished to sell start around 30 mill....the one problem for me with getting experienced strikers is will they adapt to the PL and the other problem with signing african players is that in january you will loose them for anything up to 6 weeks at a crucial time ....so if the chavs bought him they then loose him, essien, drogba, obi mikeal for about 6 weeks and possible inury...not saying we shouldn't buy african players but it should be a consideration!
Birdy, my Harrods analogy stemmed from the signings of Rio & Rooney, partly in terms of cost but nevertheless they were signings that the whole world would have snapped up at the time, given the opportunity. Now, & for various reasons, most reds know what level & how, we are going to be doing business this summer! We've just got to get used to it. I'm still happy we got Ronny to stay (that was the best signing of the summer). It's also why i've been advocating Sidwell all season. He would have been a great signing & not from 'harrods'. Many laughed when i first suggested him, not so now though. Once OH signs, i really don't see much more business - a decent striker prob' and then there might be an evra type signing who could end being a Djemba signing !
oh well plenty more fish in the sea i guess - however I really enjoy watching Eto'o play and he would be an excellent addition to our squad. He would work perfectly with Ronaldo as he does with Ronaldhino. Rooney would get his season-long injury free strike partner and when saha is fit there will be top competition for no.1 spot. as for the african nations cup, i guess it could work as we have saha (given he is fit) and also i recon dong and rossi will get a first team run out from time to time so we will have 3 second choice strikers when our main man Eto'o is on duty for his homeland.
eto i dont think is good enough for pl football, and his price tag is funny too.
The thing is, we don't know who fergie is looking at, first of all it's obvious he's busy tying up the Hargreaves deal and then he is going to move onto his next target which is a striker of his choice, I don't know who that is but I back Fergie to make it a good one.
We need a replacement for Van Nistlerooy
