The Football Writers' prestigious prize has been won with a landslide success by the 22-year-old.
United winger Ronaldo ran away with the votes, leaving his nearest rival, Chelsea's striker Didier Drogba, trailing in his wake.
Old Trafford colleagues Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs were among those who picked up votes.
Ronaldo had already collected a double with the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year titles.
It is the first time in history that all three coveted awards have gone to one player.
The last time the PFA double was done was by Andy Gray when he was at Aston Villa in 1977.
However, that season the soccer journalists voted for Liverpool captain Emlyn Hughes.
Statuette
Ronaldo will receive the famous prized statuette at the Football Writers' glittering dinner at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on May 17, two days before United's FA Cup final Wembley date with Chelsea.
It's a timely eve-of-derby tonic for Ronaldo, whose fantastic campaign ground to a halt in Milan.
But his subdued night in Italy apart, it has been a memorable season for the Madeiran following the trauma of his World Cup incident with Wayne Rooney and the speculation of a move to Real Madrid.
United have been rewarded with a campaign that has seen Ronaldo so far hit a personal best of 22 goals as well as consistently tormenting opponents with a more mature game.
Ronaldo joins an elite band of Old Trafford winners since the Footballer of the Year prize was first presented to Stanley Matthews in 1948.
Old Trafford's roll call of winners began 12 months later in 1949 when Reds' captain Johnny Carey was voted the best player.
United had two successes in the 60s with Bobby Charlton in 1966 and George Best in 1968, but the next to be honoured was 28 years later when Eric Cantona won in 1996.
Roy Keane won the 2000 award and Teddy Sheringham followed up with a success in 2001.
Since Sheringham's victory, Arsenal have dominated with four successes and Chelsea one.
Do you think Ronaldo will help United to derby victory? Have your say.

City will be up for it,but there not as good as AC Milan.
I expect a drama of sorts but know UNITED have the team to win it.Self belief will be the key to a UNITED victory 3-1 I imagine.

They also know that if they lose tomorrow it'll open the door for Chelski who then "only" need to win their next three games to become champs.
But this article was about Ronaldo and congratulations are in order here. The first player ever to win all three awards. Some achievement.
He's been absolutely magnificent. Don't know what we would've done without him.
He was the difference, and the matchwinner, in so many games this season.
Too many to list here.

Why dont you submit your muppet like comments to the Man City stories? Mindyou, how much mileage can you get from a near relegation season ( again ), and articles that suggests that your best midfield player should have been locked up years ago? You really do have nothing much to comment on.
I suppose until your tired little club do anything of consequence we'll just have to put up with your bitter, envious ramblings. Looks like we're in for a long wait!!!

Of course, individual awards mean nothing if the team doesn't win any trophies. And, to be fair, Ronnie has said that his focus has been on team success all along.
He's been running on empty these last few weeks. The intensity and frequency of games, with no Park to share the burden is starting to take it's toll. But I think he might have one more big game in in. And tomorrow would be the perfect time to do it. Ronnie's got unfinished business against the bitters, after that ridiculous red card.
Here's hoping he reminds us all why he's won so many awards tomorrow afternoon.

I am born in Moston and have supported ManU longer than you have "lived" so I do remember when Mancity did win things even though it is in the dim and distant past.
As a supporter you should be glad when your own team WIN something not when they TRY to stop another team winning a trophy but you cannot win at Wembley either!!!

Speaking of tough-men (i.e. what Drogba isn't) My heart says De La Hoys, my head says Mayweather.
But both my head and heart predict a United victory tomorrow.

Red Max fair play to you glad you are going and enjoy the game.
