A WAR of words has broken out between Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea boss Mourinho has suggested that his side are unfairly treated when it comes to penalties, again complaining after the 1-0 Champions League victory over Liverpool.

But Ronaldo reportedly told Portuguese TV: "I really don't want to be dragged into Mourinho's complaints over referees - everybody knows how he is.

"He always has to say something because he can't admit his failures.

"We have to think about the game in Milan. We have a good squad and I think we are on course."

However, Mourinho defended his standpoint.

"If he says it's a lie Manchester United have conceded some penalties this season which have not been awarded against them he's lying," Mourinho reportedly told RTP TV.

"Ronaldo is a great player, perhaps the best in the world. But he needs to be mature enough to accept you cannot argue against facts.

"And if you lie then you may never reach the level which he aspires to as a footballer."

I wish Ronaldo hadn't risen to that one. I hope it doesn't affect his performances. I get the feeling a la Fergie, Mourinho just sprays out comments hoping one will land. It deflects attention from the team which he wants and may get a double whammy by touching a nerve on the opposition. I just hope that hasn't happened to Ronaldo.

Perhaps someone should ask Mourinho to his face if the same is not true for him. Or Drogba diving. He is so arrogant he will probably claim that his Porto team never dived its way to the UEFA Cup and Champions League

Oh Dear Jose,You are suffering as Keegan suffered before you.
We have got away with the odd penalty decision but also have not been awarded as many penalties as we should've had.
To make matters worse Lampard and Terry are considering moving to Spain,and the Russian has been offering your job to Klinsmann and Hiddink.Schevchenko cost ?30mil and Solksjaer has scored more goals! Please don't take our Solksjaer away!

Mourinho needs to grow up. Ronaldo is only half his age.
He is now feeling the pressure and I think he is cracking. Last night (against Liverpool) he was complaining about a penalty that never was.

The wheels are coming off. The man is like Santa on Prozac at the moment.

The media love him though he gives them something to write everyday.

If Mourinho has been quoted correctly, this is disgraceful. If he was the ManU manager I would be ashamed. Irrespective of being the chosen one, it's time the FA charged him with bringing the game into disrepute. Wenger was for similar. Let's hope the rumours are true and if the Chelsea Board can't gag him that they hang him out to dry. I'm not angry but I've had enough. This is an unsubtle attempt to unsettle ManU and Ronaldo but it is guileles, crude and totally unprofessional. If Mourinho went tomorrow I wouldn't miss him. Meanwhile, please can all you guys support the youth team tonight and let's have a good gas tomorrow to celebrate. Cheers.

And talking about Queiroz, did anyone know that he has been given another year's extenion to his contract?

I certainly didn't.

I read this today on some Portuguese TV website and on a report that is already a week old!

Apparently it happened a few days after Ronaldo signed his contract.

Yet I've since looked on this site's archive here and some others, like the BBC one, and can't find any news of it. Also don't remember it being mentioned on MUTV, but then again I may have missed it.

So is this common knowledge and most people that post to this site already know about this new contract?

I'd be interested to hear.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining he's staying, it's just that I'm surprised this news hasn't been given more prominence in the media.

Moronio has to make daft comments and hold court with his entertaining press conferences because his team cannot entertain.He is a side show designed to detract from the truth- that after spending £200m he has a team, though hard to beat, shows no flair.He has constructed an expensive Wimbledon. But it must be said that Fash would eat Drogba for breakfast.He runs a rich club not a big club. And they'll never be big with his brand of dire football.Yawn, yawn Moronio. Blue paranoia, but Ronaldo shouldn't even mention Mourinho, the Farcical One is letting himself down so many times this season, that Ronnie doesn't need to enter the feud. Let's concentrate on the final games of our seasons, bring the EPL back to OT, don't even bother about Mourhinho winghing. Ronaldo has much better to do than to answer the Porto-Cockney-Farcical One

Just to reply to rick, yeah the news was on here about his contract extension - though I can't remember if it was a story itself or a story in a story if you know what i mean. I didn't hear about it anywhere else which is strange considering we hear about this (jose) moaning faced get every day!!!

Ok lets get 1 thing straight, shall we, Moanalotiho says we've had the benefit of the doubt on a few penalties for and against this season, and yes the "specially tinted Glasses" one has a point but he has also forgotten about 5 other points. For instance how John Terry never gives away a penalty when he throws himself at the ball with his arms raised (Must be close to 15 times that has happened and it's a penalty because the law states that your arms must be by your side!!!). Then we have the whole Drogba thing, he constantly throws himself (like he's just been shot!!!) to the ground looking for a penalty/freekick yet as soon as he gets it he springs back up to his feet (remember the Pepe Reina incident anyone?!!!). Then you have the Essien's and Carvalho's who really get away with some awful tackles (Essien's on Hamman and Carvalho's on the Barca keeper!!!). Funny how all this gets brushed under the carpet along with the fact that United should have had at least 8 stonewall penalties this season and that Cristiano Ronaldo only gets half the fouls made on him given!!! So to finish I think that Moroniho (as aptly named in an earlier post!!) should remember that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!!! Support the Team and Live the Dream.....

The interesting comparison with Drogba and Ronaldo who are both brilliant is that you are forced into fouling them in fact Drogba should have got the old ankle tap yesterday before being allowed to pass to Cole. Ronaldo gets fouled and gets right back up again unless he is taking a breather. Drogba has to perform and yesterday, quite frankly should have been booked. He is amazing in the air but his antics really tick me off. Liverpool were not in the same class yesterday and were lucky to come away only one goal down. They have to get Gerrard back in the middle for the return game and start Crouch. Essien will be back for the return and I think Chelsea will move on to the final. Mikel and Essien are going to be a force for them and we could see a major house cleaning at the Bridge this summer. Robben could be up for grabs and he would look good in red.

Well said Simon. Spot on regarding Terry, was just gonna say the same myself. More so last season that this, but last yr he must have done it a dozen times, diving in to block a shot with his arms spread above his head, and not once did he concede a penalty for it. And as another post said, his Porto team were always at it. I remember particularly the UEFA Cup final against Celtic when they were nothing short of a disgrace. I've genuinely never seen a team dive so much or feign injury so much as Porto on that night. Once they got ahead and they did everything possible to waste time, and every single challenge in the last 10 mins resulted in an "injury". Best just to ignore Jose because he's full of it

If there's anything that's even remotely entertaining about Chelski, his comments have got to be it.

Class quote from Ronny. He's getting some good ones in. Right from "I'm too good" to "I like watching myself" to" the best is yet to come" and this.

As for him saying Ronaldo will never be the best player in the world because of his cheating or lying, what of Drogshit who he routinely trumpets as the best striker in the world? Idiot.

I must say though, if his team were half as entertaining as him, they'd have a lot more fans.

i totally, totally agree with ronaldo.
jose cannot stand losing. he says all this stuff because he wants to convince himself, and the world, that he will only lose to man utd because the whole thing is biased and whatever. he is a LAME dude. 'the special one', wow. that is so, so not true.
i mean, you can tell that that dude DOES NOT know what he is saying by reading or listening to all the things he's said before. drogba, the one who dives, the best player??? haha. thats funny. thats real funny.

Jose says he likes facts, here's one for him. Penalties given against United at OT = 3. Penalties aginst Chelsea at The Bridge 0. Funny how he says facts support him when they simply don't. I wonder when the last time Terry gave a penalty away, seems he's exempt from many rules (as was Shearer before him with those nasty elbows). What a prat Jose is looking, me thinks the pressure is too much for him!

Expensive Wimbledon, haha, nice one! I struggle to take Moaninho seriously, his comments are always over the top, quite entertaining really. But I love it when somebody answers him, absolutely love it! :) Chelsea get away with murder a lot of times, they don't have the fluency in their play, so they try tackle their opponents in half, why they're not getting more cards is beyond me. Maybe coz Moaninho keeps harping about their "unfair" treatment?
