"I had been at Celtic for seven years but I thought it was time to do something else. I really didn't have anything lined up, when I got a phone call from my wife saying Barcelona were interested," he said.
Larsson, who left Old Trafford earlier this month to return to Helsingborgs, added: "I'm almost 36 now, but it's still the thing I love to do, so I'm going to keep playing for as long as I can."
DANNY Wallace and his family will be special guests at a charity comedy night to be staged by the Manchester United supporters' trust MUST.
The former Reds winger, who suffers with multiple sclerosis, will be at the event at Sam Platt's pub on Trafford Wharf Road on Friday, March 30 (7.30pm).
Tickets cost £10 with all proceeds going to the Danny Wallace Foundation. Tickets from www.joinMUST.org/danny or phone 0870 742 3025.

LOL Celtic in the champions league final in 2001? Yeh and I think I remeber pigs flying that year too! The Uefa Cup may be a better description.
CL final ? wasn't it 1967 ?
also, how come his wife rang him, was she hoping for the job instead of Rijkyard ?
Clearly & rightly Larsson's wife is very dear to him & methinks rules the roost. I'm astonished he would not decide to stay a few months longer if as he says he still loves the game.
Balders, it was called the European Cup then.
