Man United
6 Kuszczak: Had precious little to do against a disappointing Bolton attack
6 Neville: Showing his usual commitment when injured
7 Heinze: Made up some ground in his left back duel with Evra. Defended well and attacked purposefully
7 Ferdinand: Comfortable afternoon dealing with the potential but ultimately non-existent threat of Anelka
7 Vidic: Nobody got anywhere near upsetting the big Serb's easy afternoon execet referee Wiley
8 Park: His early appalling miss didn't derail him and he struck two clean efforts to make up for it
7 Carrick: Went smoothly through the motions without having to stamp authority
6 O'Shea: Started off not looking up to speed but United's dominance allowed him to ease into it
9 Ronaldo: Sensational form turned possible tough game into a stroll. Bolton couldn't live with him
7 Giggs: Free role alongside Rooney helped to unsettle Wanderers. He was here, there and everywhere
9 Rooney: Brilliant sidekick to Ronaldo helped destroy Bolton's confidence and excellent finishing
Subs:
7 Brown (sub Neville 11): Solid stand in for injured captain
6 Richardson (sub Giggs 56): Buzzed about
6 Smith (sub Ronaldo 70): Great ball for fourth goal
Evra, Heaton not used

Rooney was brilliant absolutely fantastic, Ronaldo had a pretty good first half but lost it 2nd half I think that is why we took him off.
Hahaha, "DISAGREE with the ratings?".. Didn't know the MEN writers were a sensitive lot, although admittedly there are more disagreements than agreements.. The ratings were about right, although I would've given Ronaldo an 11..
Totally agree with the ratings except for the keeper who flapped about a bit at crosses. Park had another good game, future replacement for Giggs?
What a great game from Ronaldo. Have to admit that Rooney looked really good and both seemed to enjoy. Park needs to star more often. Proved once more that he fits in. Gigs anoyes me even though he is a great player( feels like he allways chooses the other alternative than passing the ball to Ronaldo). Carrick good game, O'shea was ok but he would never be able to play in any top team in Portugal....but please how boring can it gets when ronaldo steps out??
are u blind Manc?? he came out because United is playing on monday. Ronaldo was really good. MOM no doubt, if he would play until the end he would have scored.
a bit unfair on oshea ( am i dreaming) the lad did a good steady job today and definitley deserved a 7
Totallty agree with ratings....clever passes from Smith , a la Larsson . How many time did Richarson touched the ball...i counted 11 .
ronaldo was well worthy of his 9, but i wouldn't have argued if MEN had given him a straight 10 today. He was absolutely awesome today. He was NOT taken off because he faded in the second half!!! what was that comment all about?? If you hadn't noticed, we have an FA cup replay on monday to save him for. I was watching the match on French TV and the commentators were saying how ronaldo never has a bad game, but unluckily for bolton today they came up against a ronaldo who was on fire. I was impressed with alot of the lads this afternoon. Rooneys touch and class is back. The way him and ronaldo linked up for the second goal left me speachless for the rest of the half. Amazing. Park was well overdue a great game, and i'm glad he got the goals his energy and movement deserved. And what about Giggs. He more than made up for the loss of scholes today and was back to his very best. To the guy in lisbon who doesn't like him??? What???? Which united team have you been watching for the last 15 years?
I think we've said for a long time that Rooney hitting form could be the key to surviving the run in and it looks like he has, with Ronaldo also back to his brilliant best after a bit of a lull at times last month with everyone else it's looking good. 6 more wins should do it and if we play like that then I'm pretty confident.
Not taking anything away from Ronnie's peformance, (he was taken off 1) as a charitable gesture to Bolton, and 2) to save him for Monday night),but Park is my MOM for his excellent play over the full 90.Brilliant.Carrick & JOS did very well for us as did our back four. KitKat gives me the collywobbles with his indecisiveness, especially on crosses. Great team peformance today, ( I don't consider Richardson as being part of this team).
Pepe, judging on Park performance today it is really important that Fergie signs at least a similar player like Park to take some work load on Ronaldo as Richardson is just no where as good as Park let alone Ronnie. He and Kuschak were just poor on a day when the rest of the team was outstanding.
Manc your a loser. Seamus I agree totally as I said on another thread Ronaldo Rooney Giggs and Park were sensational. I would give 9 to them except for Ronaldo who is well overdue a generous mark of 10.
Sorry Seamus I meant Utd for life !!
Utd-For-Life, marseille ex-stretford, I didn't say that I don't like Gigs, I just said that he annoys me "sometimes". He was a great player and still is but it feels like "sometimes" he has an issue with Ronaldo and you probably seen SAF telling him off because he didn't pass the ball to Ronaldo....But forget about it, United had a great game and if they sign a couple of top players( Etoo, Torres, Diego Ribas( Werder Bremen), Quaresma, Moutinho, Miguel, Ronaldinho maybe???)any of this players than it would be great Ronaldo to stay.
Senstational performance from Ronaldo with Rooney coming a close second as MOM for me, Park did well and all in all the ratings are about right.
Strange how we have hit form again and started to score goals now ththat Larsson has departed. Don't get me wrong, thought he was brill but maybe disrupted things a bit because he wasn't used to our style of play.
VALTINHO, LISBON, I dont want to see Ronaldinho as we dont want to develop egos in the squad. We need to sign players to allow good continuity of the team and not allow anymore distraction as we saw with Ruud who had problems with the best manager in the World(Fergie) and the best player in the World(Ronaldo).
We need to replace Richardson in the squad by a better player who will accept to be a squad player like Park and a young coming CF as i suppose that Owen Hargreaves is a done deal.
I hate to sound like i'm singling out the same players but carrick was useless as ever, everytime he was put under any pressure he lost the ball, and when wes brown starts playing more effective through balls than our star midfielder you have to worry, also surely we must have some reserve player who can come in that can do a better job than richardson, for the time he spent on the pitch apart from being booked he did nothing, great result though we played a bit like the away team.
Don't know what more Ronaldo can do to get a 10?
I think the important thing is that after our first notable dip in form (which we came through winning the lot other than the boro draw) we look back to our best form - and importantly managed that without the influence and experience of G Nev and Scholes. Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs, Vidic, Rio and Evra have driven United through the season, now it is for the likes of Rooney, Smudger, Park and Heinze to pick up the baton and drive us over the finish line. Rooney's return to confident finishing (5 in 3 games includig the friendly) is very timely indeed. A couple of games of him and Ronie both playing at their best and Chelsea will be crying into their cafe lattees. This game was a banana skin. Bolton are an awkward side, we have been off form, Larsson away, all the injuries, the influential Scholes missing and then losing the captain 6 minutes in - yet we tore them to pieces. Park played great, Rooney was brilliant, Ronie awesome. Perhaps overlooked has been the resurgence of Heinze in the last 2 days. We will need the fight of Heinze and Smudger yet to win this league.
Edinburgh red i have to disagree with the carrick comments. I thought he played well. Think he lost the ball once and did some nice passing to keep the game ticking. Ronnie and Rooney were amazing and would give a 10. I cant believe Park scored twice i was cringing when he missed the first. KK still looks out of sorts to me and the more i see him play the more im sure he isnt united keeping standard. As for richardson - useless would give him a 1 as the only thing he did was get booked (altough that was a little harsh after watching replay)
As has been pretty obvious to anyone whose ever kicked a ball, it's not so much a return to form for Rooney but just that he got to play where he wants. Although a friendly, it was the same v Europe XI. The kid is a striker, SIMPLE AS, it's what he loves and to anyone in any doubt, check out his smile ...i could see it from the back of tier 2 !!
Agree with the ratings. Nothing to add on the rave reviews of Wazza, Ronnie, Park and Giggs, they were all superb. I thought Carrick and O'Shea did very well, particularly in the first half (if you exclude O'Shea's horror show in the first 3 minutes)
But I think our defence deserves special praise. Vidic was back to his imposing best and himself, Rio, Gabby and Brown totally dominated for 90 minutes. I don't think there's a back four in the country that could keep the likes of Anelka, Davies and Diouf in their pocket for a full 90 minutes. Did KK even make a save?
If we can keep things that tight at the back (and refs stop awarding sympathy penalties against us!) then the two Rs will definitely score goals and the title is ours.
Balders it is great to see Rooney enjoying football again he and Ronaldo were awesome but are you seriously implying that Rooney hasnt played up front behind Saha in his best posistion for most of the season ??
