Trabelsi up for the cup

HATEM Trabelsi has played in three World Cups, three African Nations Cups and the Champions League, but Sunday should see his first taste of FA Cup action.

And the history and importance of England's biggest domestic cup competition is not lost on the 29-year-old Tunisian.

The Blues face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in a tricky tie but go into the game with confidence after their three-match winning streak over Christmas and New Year.

éWe know that Sundayés game is a big one, not just for us, but for everybody. The FA Cup is important," Trabelsi told the club's website, www.mcfc.co.uk.

éYou donét have big clubs and small clubs, every game has ités own reality and I think first division, second division and Premiership teams are all the same. We have to be focused, concentrate and we canét relax.

éItés my first season and my first game in the FA Cup, so ités important for me that we continue and we win the game. We know it will be difficult and that we have to work hard and concentrate.

éWe are on a good run and I hope we were going to do well. Weéve won three games in a row, so weére in good shape and in good form.é

Trabelsi has been one of City's best performers this season down the right flank.

Do you think City and Trabelsi will taste cup success against Wednesday? Have your say.

More of a cup shock if City win. Remember Halifax, Shrewsbury, Oldham, Notts County, Doncaster, Chesterfield.......

I would like to see sturridge given some sort of run out with a mixture of youth and experience. I thought that the christmas games caught up with Trebelsi against everton. maybe a 45 minute run out for Sinclair if he is fit. with Trebelsi slotting in at Right Back behind him. (assuming 4-4-2) Beesly looks like he could do with some games under his belt (preferably wide left).

What are the odds on us winning our fourth game in a row? I feel another short cup run coming on but hope I'm wrong.

Good to know there will be 6000 of us at Hillsborough. Sheffield Wednesday has a good season so far, and it will be a tough match. Glad we play one of the better CL-sides rather than a midtable 1st of 2nd Division one, as recent past showed. Hope our foreigners will live up to the British cup-atmosphere, cause if they don't we'll be in for another early excit.

Jon, At Work is right. Never bet on City to win a cup game away to lower league opposition.

Never bet on City but Wednesday are going into the game on the back of a home defeat against lowly Hull and we have a very good record against them over the years at Hillsborough. Plus, this isn't a small club like Chesterfield or Shrewsbury or Doncaster or Halifax. They are a big club and there will be a large crowd, probably their biggest of the season, over 30,000 and on a half decent pitch, just for once, I back City to win!

Too many bad memories of FA Cup losses to get excited/hopeful (it's a cup final for Sheff Wed).

Brill if we win, par for the course if we lose. The league form is more important this year - with the table being so tight, another run of wins/losses spells either Europe/relegation respectively.

CTID. Dooooooooooneh.

Excellent, pleased to hear we're taking 6000, I'm going and generally prefer away games these days. Should be a cracking atmosphere.
