City have slipped to 14th in the Premiership having won just one league game in their last five outings. Sunday's 2-1 loss at home to Tottenham saw the team booed off and had supporters calling for Pearce's head.
Defeat to Martin Jol's men was the Blues first at Eastlands this season but it is clear where their problems lie. The team have found the back of the net just 15 times in 18 league fixtures.
Hatton, who is aiming to regain his IBF crown this January, said: "I think that it's a lot of rubbish that Pearce is going to go. Over the last seven years, we have probably had more managers than players!
Potential
"Stuart has huge potential and I think he is doing a good job but he is financially tied - you can't expect miracles.
"We are just below mid-table and it's not like we are going to get relegated. You have got to give him time to find his feet.
"We are stuttering and starting, one minute we are brilliant and the next very inconsistent.
"It's just the same every season, we continue to under-achieve. The good thing about football is that it only takes a couple of wins and you can turn the corner.
"Micah Richards is coming through and looks a good player whilst Joey Barton isn't far off an England call up."

RICKY WHY DON,T YOU OFFER TO TAKE SAMARAS UNDER YOUR WING FOR SOME EXTRA BOXING TRAINING AT YOUR GYM THE GUY NEEDS TOUGHENING UP HE GETTING BULLYED TO EASILY
Tend to agree with Hatton. We need stability! We are always looking for the quick fix, which has meant that we've gone through too many Managers. If we are given some cash during the window, and if we survive in the Prem, and if we are taken over, the new board would decide Pearce's fate anyway. Changing our Manager at this time of the season could be suicide...
Ricky is correct GET off SP back give him the players & he will give you the results, stop thinking of selling our best & picking up used dummies as replacements
2right S.P is a great manager and were lucky 2 ave im but some of the signings he has made are sh*t
Hey, Who's to disagree with Ricky!
Bluecity, that's a good idea, Samaras lacks presence but more than that he lacks speed off the mark, over the years there have been lots of sprinters who've used boxing training methods in their training to run quicker, most famously Allan Wells, who used to use a speedball to develop his speed and cross-body co-ordination.
Mates stick together though don't they Ricky. Pearce aint up to the job mate, simple as that.
i think mr hatton is wrong. why should we be happy with constant under achieving? [his words not mine] and constant inconsistancy. if ricky hatton was that complacant over his boxing career i don`t think he`d be where he is now. as for not getting relegated has he seen a league table lately? and if you mean giving pearce more money by your comment a fair crack at the whip you must be mad, we don`t have any and our manager likes to blow copious amounts on inexperienced strikers and play them out of position destroying any confidence they previously had. then again ricky you don`t want to go around upsetting the people who roll out the red carpet for you when you turn up at city would you?
The only problem with keeping SP is this, I don't think we're going to get more than 2 points out of the Xmas fixtures, we'll be sat just above the bottom 3, morale will be shot to bits and we will lose our top players in the window! It will then be too late sort out and we will go down, I realy fear this. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't see how he's going to turn it round his team selections are woeful and his tactics are awful, 1000s of fans not turning up can't be wrong. We don't have any more time I'm afraid.
Scooting R - you got in wrong mate, not many sports have training that is as bad and out of date as football training and as far as sprinting goes, boxing and sprinting are nothing like each other so there is no carry over what so ever. Granted Samaras could do with some boxing training for the simple fact that my mam could kick his a***.
I'll keep this simple. It's not just the losing is the way we lose along side the utter boring type of football played. City have always been good watch in the past, winning or losing!! PS. Good point Scooting P, remember Big Mal brought in a ballet teacher in the 60's. Made them fitter, less prone to injuries etc..
You certainly can't say we're getting a quick fix under Pearce! So much so that we're now in an even worse state than when he took over nearly two years ago. We are therefore progressing.. :-) progressing backwards :-(
stick with sp??? he will get us results?!! his record is, 75 games, 25 wins,32 loses,15 drawn. given him a 34% win record. we havent won 2 in a row for over a year.we play some of the worst football ive seen at city, his tactics are appaling and some of the players he has brought are a joke. i hated city changing manager all the time but pearce is not the man for us. i have so much respect for hattan, im even goin to vegas for his fight next month, but did u really expect him to come out and say sack pearce?when they are good mates?!its just good PR for the club for all the happy clappers.
What a load of rubbish. Fair crack of the whip - I think he's had that all right and look at the results!! He's also had money - around 10M and he's wasted the lot. So don't give me that about fair crack of the whip and money. 'It's not like we will get relegated' - which table are you looking at!! I am also fed up with the old chestnut about stability - if we had stuck with some managers we would be in the conference now. MEN why do you contunue to publish stories that do not ask serious questions of the club.
shut up hatton keep to boxing pearce out pearce out
This is looking like the end - 0-2 down agst Bolton and sinking fast. Barton on his way? and Distin? This is looking like relegation form. It is a question of when SP goes and who we get in his place.
of course he would support Pearce.they are mates aren't they.take those rose tinted glasses off Ricky we are playing the worst football I've had the misfortune of watching for years.Icannot see where our next goal is coming from and now Barton has said he is happy here that means he's off soon.I am afraid I am not going back to COMS until Pearce goes I've had a gutfull. As i write this Anelka has just scored his 2nd .I'm off to kick the cat ,but being a city fan I,ll probably miss
One point from last four games. Relegation is now between Charlton, Watford, Sheffield, Boro and City. West Ham and Blackburn will get out of trouble. So it's perm three from five. Charlton Watford will go down. Of the others my guess is that Boro will survive so it's actually between us and Sheffield utd.
No surprise here with Anelka scoring both goals so far. Ricky the manager is failing badly never mind being strapped for cash! He has had funds and wasted the money on Samaras, Hamaan and Dickov. He continually plays Reyna and Thatcher and other underperformers. The dozy twins Distin and Dunne will always struggle against quick attackers like Diouf and Anelka. The club is in turmoil Distin should be told he signs or is released, a clearout will mean Sinclair another waster going through the door with Reyna, Thatcher, Distin (what let down) and Corradi. The truth is we have no effective strikers. Also chairman Wardle has to be challenged and with immediate effect tickets for games against Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn should be brought in line with what City fans have had to pay. I would urge all City Fans to boycott the next several games the club needs to be rid of Wardle and Pearce and their cronies! They are not up to the job.
Surely this has to be the end of Pearce at City!!
The team he put out was a disgrace and again no pride no commitment no passion. The club is in tatters and now without Mr Wonderful for 3 games.
PEARCE MIST GO - PEARCE MUST GO!!! City fans are being ripped off by it's own club.
I hope that SP realises he has got to go. I suspect that our Chairman hasnt the guts to act now so it is left to Pearce to walk. How sad is it that we have sunk so low. The goals record this season is terrible and each game starts with us having no game plan to win. The coaching is abject and even when things are changed today we created not one clear chance. SP is not up to the task and his recent comments bear justice to this. He is ruining our great traditions and I cant believe most fans dont want to call for his head.
Wardle be a man and sack himbefore it is too late or go yourself as you do not have the best interests of the club. Keep Pearce and we will go down FACT.
Has he resigned yet?
I agree that it will be between us and Sheff Utd for the last relegation spot. Charlton and Watford are down in my opinion. We need 2 wins out of the next three games. The nightmare scenario Man U home game last game of the season is looking more likely by the game. We dont create enough and our strikers are the worst in the Prem. Pearce has now lost 21 of the last 32 games which is just not good enough. problem is who replaces him?
you could always write a nice fat cheque to the club for a war chest ricky.
Hatton, stick to boxing. How do you know if Pearce has potential. Pearce has to go........let's get a big name manager for our big club!!!!
