Kasper loaned to Shakers

KASPER Schmeichel has joined Bury on a month's loan.

The young stopper, son of former goalkeeping great Peter, recently enjoyed an impressive loan spell at League Two Darlington.

He will now gain more Coca-Cola League experience with Chris Casper's Shakers.

Casper told Bury's website: "I'm delighted to have signed Kasper for a month. He has done very well for Darlington earlier this season, he's young and enthusiastic.

"The move here will give him the chance to get some more games under his belt and with coming from such a big club it can only be good for us. I look forward to seeing him play for us."

Do you think Kasper has the potential to succeed David James? Have your say.

I think so - bit concerned about his height though as he isnt that tall. I know 1 or 2 great keepers aint that tall but it does help!!! Hope he does well.

Never seen the lad play, but always looks promising in warm ups. He is a young lad, with a long way to go. I wish him well at Bury, and hope to see him in the Blue shirt in the not too distant!!

of course you missed the potential "Casper lands Kasper" or even "Schmiechel movers to the Shakers"

"Never seen the lad play, but always looks promising in warm ups." Thank heavens you're not City's chief scout. Honestly! I have seen him play and he's better than Ellergard and Weaver at the respective stages of their careers. Too early to tell if he'll really make it. Clearly Pearce has his doubts as he's going to do a deal for the young Shrews keeper.

I would say Kasper is in a key transition phase for a young footballer. Between 18-21 is the time when it becomes clear if they will make it or not. Look at Croft. Future star at 18, but has levelled out. Pearce is really watching this with his players. He has seen players like Croft and FLood tail off. And he released Warrender recently. One thing for sure is sentiment won't get in the way just because he is Rudolph's son. Pearce will have Tim Flowers watching him at Bury.

Casper signs Kasper. Just make sure you keep Bury in the Second Division. SP knows his players.

When I saw Kasper 18 months ago, he looked like he was trying too hard to act like his dad, with all the shouting and posturing, and then let the ball go straight through him for a goal. OK, son, nice try. Over time he's improved, and after coming back from loan he's far better. Last month I saw a far more mature player, who makes good saves and good decisions. He might make it, but he's really not very tall. I don't like to overlook homegrown lads, but I'm afraid Joe Hart of Shrewsbury is The Real Deal. This kid's 6 foot 4, can do the lot, and is performing heroics in real league football. Flowers has seen more Shrewsbury games than City recently, and I'm praying that City meet the 7 figure asking price. (Which is 6 months wages for Joey Barton.)
