Thatcher set for return

BEN Thatcher will continue his comeback from injury tonight when the reserves take on Everton.

The left-back hasn't played for City since the 1-0 defeat at Newcastle because of an ankle injury.

However, he will take his place in Steve Wigley's line-up against the Toffees tonight, and will be eager to impress ahead of Saturday's first-team game with Blackburn.

Stephen Jordan has performed well in Thatcher's absence and will not give up the shirt easily.

There is also a place for young starlet Daniel Sturridge, who is making his full reserves debut alongside Michael Ward and Kelvin Etuhu, reports the club's website.

City: De Vlieger, Logan, Collins, Laird, Ward, Thatcher, Etuhu, Sturridge, Wright-Phillips, Bermingham, Miller.

Subs: Schmeichel, Johnson, Grimes, Williamson, tbc.

Would you put Thatcher in against Blackburn? Have your say.
