The four-team tournament, which will also feature the Thai national side, will be run under a knockout format in Bangkok's National Stadium (Rajamangala Stadium) on July 20 and 23.
The English Premier League (EPL) made the announcement through its website of only the second of its type to be organised outside England, following the competition staged in Malaysia in 2003 which was won by Chelsea and also featured Newcastle and Birmingham.
Representatives from the three teams will also visit Phuket to meet some of the survivors of the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster.
This follows the move earlier this season when the 20 Premier League clubs pledged '50,000 each, a total of '1million, to the disaster relief fund.
Premier League Chairman Dave Richards, speaking in Thailand, said: "We are looking forward to staging our first official club tournament in Thailand this July, the passion and interest in Premier League football meant it was a natural choice."
"By holding an event in Thailand we look forward to building on the strong relationships and enormous interest the English Premier League enjoys throughout Asia."
"We are also pleased to be sending representatives from the Premier League, Bolton Wanderers, Everton and Manchester City to Phuket during the event.
"In addition to the '1million donation we made to the Indian Ocean Appeal, we hope to help highlight the recovery of the region since the Indian Ocean earthquake as well as provide some presents and coaching for local children." Tweet

Excellent! I'm heading over from Sydney and hope to see a few other Blues on the streets of Bangkok!
Bring it on!
Allegedly another B#500K that SP isn't going to see!
We need pre-season training. We are in a poor financial situation. The expanded exposure to the south east asian market, allied to the appearance money will go into the coffers. Add to this the monies forthcoming from the concerts. All in one pot, I am sure that Mr Wardle knows what he is doing, and if that means being able to keep SWP and Sylvain we are going to be at least mid-table with SP at the helm. I would prefer stability with a good financial base, progressing year on year, rather that the profligate boom and bust of yesteryear.
People prattle about the debt, but the majority of it is well managed and structured, calm down y'awl. At least we still own ourselves! Glory, Glory Malcolm Glazer, Coz Man United have just been sold!
Is this likely to be on Sky or even channel 5?
There's definitely corporate reasoning behind these tours, but at least there's some benefit for those who've suffered the tsunami with this one as opposed to just being designed to drum up interest and profit in the premiership. Bolton and Everton are the teams we should be competing with for euro spots next season so theyre good opponents for pre-season.
SKY reported this morning that Liverpool were also playing but no-one else has mentioned it so must have been an error.
Will chase City for ticket news next week and post anything.
We've already booked flights and hotel.
Is this where we'll swap Distin for Bent?
im flying from manchester on the 18th cum back on the 25th 600 quid. stay at the asia hotel, quality pre season trip
As there have been several stories related to this trip and comments have been posted for each story, maybe the EDITOR would like to set up a special webpage specifically for this trip and move all the previous comments to it, in order that us fans can post our questions, answers, tips, meeting places, etc. How about it MR. ED?
(Feedback ed: Bredbury Blue, we're actually talking about doing something like that. Stay tuned!)
Reported in today's (30-06-05) Bangkok Post, Real Madrid will play Thailand in a special friendly match in Bangkok on July 29 at Rajamangala Stadium. ''Players like Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Michael Owen, Roberto Carlos will be part of the team,''. A week before the Spanish stars arrive three English Premier League teams, Everton, Manchester City and Bolton, are coming to Bangkok to play in a quadrangular tournament with matches on July 20 and 23.
Details of the tickets have been posted today (7 July) through the agent on http://www.thaiticketmaster.com/sport/faleague_eng.php . Tickets are one day tickets for 2 games. City first plays Bolton in the 2nd game of the Wednesday night at 20.45 hrs. The winner plays the winner of the Everton vs Thailand game, runners-up of each game play each other, in the Saturday 23rd games at 17.45 hrs and 20.45 hrs. Thaiticketmaster have outlets in 'Central' department stores http://www.thaiticketmaster.com/outlets_eng.php. Tickets are on sale from Saturday 9th July 2005 and I think on the day at the ground. One day pass ticket costs 2,000 Baht, 1,500 Baht, 800 Baht & 600 Baht b " its about 74 baht to the pound here. Seems that there's a discount for presenting 3 bottle tops from Beer chang bottles b " not a bad deal eh! It's the height of the rainy season (and I don't mean Manchester drizzle ok) so I'd recommend that you get the best tickets in the one covered stand. http://www.thaifootball.com/t-stadium-raj.html . Cheers.
