‘Hurt’ Roberto Mancini poised to let rebel Carlos Tevez rot until summer

Carlos Tevez signs autographs on his way out of City’s Carrington training base yesterday as his City team-mates headed for Porto
Carlos Tevez looks like being left to rot on the training ground until the  summer after his TV interview ‘hurt’ Roberto Mancini.

The Blues boss was prepared to forgive the Argentine striker, who began training yesterday as the City squad flew out to Porto for tonight’s Europa League tie.

But the screening of Tevez’s strident views on the manager, which included the allegation that Mancini had treated him ‘like a dog’ over his refusal to resume warming up at Bayern Munich in September, changed all that.

Mancini, himself utterly fed up with the whole issue, suggested in a terse statement that, rather than treat Tevez like a dog, he had perhaps indulged him too often.

“I totally disagree with Carlos and what he says because I have never treated him badly,” said Mancini.

“Maybe it’s the opposite and I have treated him too well, always. And I have never say like ...finished. I don’t want to talk any more. This is the last question I answer on this for the next three months.”

Stuart Brennan: Forget all the hand-wringing about Tevez – it’s all about winning and business now

Carlos Tevez could be hit in pocket once again for TV interview

Mancini has given Tevez plenty of leeway, allowing him two weeks’ compassionate leave in Argentina in February 2010 when his second daughter was born prematurely, and sanctioning several mid-season trips back to Buenos Aires when the striker was suffering from homesickness.

Tevez has stated he will be fit and available to play within two weeks, but in the current climate, it is unlikely Mancini will even consider him. A source close to the manager said that the Italian had been prepared to give Tevez one last chance, but it appears that he blew it with his TV appearance.

“The manager is a very forgiving person and he was willing to open the door again for Carlos – if he said sorry,” said the source.

“But he was hurt by what was said in the interview - a lot of the staff were hurt by it.”

It is so obvious that Mancini is being told what to do. His hands are tied. The oily Sugardaddy who has bankrolled our club has seen our goals dry up recently and has ordered Mancini to get Tevez back to ensure we buy the League. This makes Mancini look a proper tool, weakens the little authority he has got, and will play merry hell with team morale. This will certainly gift the premiership trophy to MUFC. Oh well, never mind.

Mancini and Tevez seam to be fighting like cat and dog!

Slightly off-topic, just slightly…

I spoke to a “Blue” yesterday and although it’s all about opinions and you should respect each others, sometimes, just SOMETIMES, you’ve just gotta say what a complete fruit loop he or she is.

He said, and I quote, “Clichy has been a waste of money; Kolarov is a much better left back”. He continued (regarding this season, not last), “Milner & Barry are both slow and ineffective midfielders”.

But he saved the best for last when he spewed out…”I would rather City finish 2nd in the league to United than see Tevez ever pull on a City shirt ever again”.

Seriously, this guy is a Blue; I’ve unfortunately known him for years and he isn’t an embitteRED lemon & limer in disguise (although after those comments I wish he was).

Can you believe it? I think he’s just one of those individuals – and sadly they are out there – who just likes to be controversial for controversial sake.

Pleb.

Slag off the manager, now thats a good way to reintegrate yourself.

Totally agree with Mancini.

The guy is such a simpleton.

On one hand he says he's going to say sorry and on the other he is saying he was treated like a dog.

I've got news for your Carlos - In England, when you say sorry you're supposed to mean it.

Crawl back into the hole from which you emerged please.

If getting treated like a Dog got me £250,000 a week and and £6m image rights every year, then 'Woof woof' wheres my collar?

I'm not as desperate as rags singing 'sign him on'.
If it ever plays for us, it has to be by Mancini's conditions.
If it comes on, I'll sign Mancini's song wherever I am.
If it scores, even in the last minute vs scum to win us the title on the day, I'll celebrate the Mario-way.
If we win the tilte it'll be despite it, not because of it.

I’m sure he has upset – as the piece states - not just Mancini but a lot of back-room staff. Those who have bent over backwards so much and so often to help Carlos feel loved and who have helped to accommodate his family needs during his time at City must feel very, very insulted and let down indeed.

Perhaps he has put the final, FINAL nail in his proverbial coffin – and I did see the interview & question to Mancini – but to say, “‘Hurt’ Roberto Mancini poised to let rebel Carlos Tevez rot until summer” before Mancini returns on Friday for him to have his FIRST face-to-face chat with Carlos, is a bit presumptuous and mischievous.

I’m not defending to Tevez in the SLIGHTEST but that sort of speculation about Mancini being set to let him rot until the summer is a bit naughty and somewhat ‘red top’ of the M.E.N. in my opinion.

At last, some sense. How many times will this guy (CT) be allowed to take the "P" and nothing is done? He has be allowed to get away with amazing statements. I'm 100% behind Mancini and I'm sure the Sheik is, as well. Let him rot on the training ground and, if they can't sell him, in the summer, he stays there next season.

Awww and all you bluenoses wanted him to play ! Hahaha

The guys a clown, let him rot. Hes not fit to where any shirt let alone a City one.

See who wants him in the summer when he hasnt played for a year. Guys an idiot thinking he can bully the club like this.

If we are not going to play this idiot again (and i,m sure all city fans will back Bobbys choice) then lets not give him a personal trainer. Lets feed him up, keep him unfit, yes we will lose lots in transfer fees but at least it might finish his career for the good of all football.

Tevez has insulted Bobby Manc and everyone else associated with City. There's no going back, he went too far. We've moved on, he's gone backwards - Let him rot in the mess he's made for himself.

How are we supposed to believe this drivel?
A "source close to the manager said", what kind of validity can be given to an unamed source.
As far as I am concerned absolutely NONE.
The only validation of RM being unwilling to have Tevez appear in City shirt again, will be at the end of the season. If he hasn't played by then and only then will any claims either way be proven to be the true, until then everything is pure speculation.

Irrespective of a need for a fourth striker, the talents of Tevez, what he has done in the past either for us or to us, it is up to RM.
Personally I am willing to put my trust in and abide by the managers ruling either way. It is simply and purely up to him to decide what will be and I am quite content to have him make the decision for us because I know that he at least, has our interest at heart.

Four stories out of five about Carlos Tevez.

Where is the preview about tonight's match against Porto?

"rot" - good to see the MEN putting words in to peoples mouths again.

I doubt Mancini is as sensitive as suggested here. However that mey be, Tevez's interview shows that he still considers that he has a grievance and that nothing has changed as far as his attitude is concerned. If Tevez could be forgiven - and that is impossible as far as I am concerned - it would be madness to think that such a player could make anything but a negative contribution to our push for the title. Players with that attitude lose you titles, they don't help win them.

Let him ROT!

I don't think Mr Mancini has done anything wrong at all, but Tevez and his advisor need to look at themselves.

Time to move on from yesterdays man....

Congratulations to John Guidetti who is having a fantastic loan spell at the moment, he could come back next year full of confidence and be one of four strikers in a rotation.

Tevez could perhaps play for a Battersea Dogs Home select Eleven, at least a whorthwile charity would gain.

Tevez claims he was treated like a dog. I believe in his fitness test on returning from his extended leave of abscense he was asked to sit, lie & roll over. If I was him I would complain as well hahahaha.

I wonder what the rhetoric will be tomorrow if we lose tonight?

I'm no fan of Tevez's behaviour and think that the club should have been more rigorous in dealing with him. But that would have lost us a lot of money in legal fees and no transfer value. However, Tevez has used an apt similie and we shouldn't get worked up about it, per se. Listen to any owner dealing even with a well loved and cared for dog - 'Sit', 'Fetch' etc etc. Any footballer gets used to being told 'Warm up', 'Sit down again' - it may be annoying because you want to play but it's the reality of life. So any footballer might use the illustration of being like a dog in that respect. It's not necessarily a perjorative phrase - it's the way it is said that might make it so. Not being a fluent Spanish speaker, I can't judge. Tevez has to decide what he wants from life.

There is a wide divergence of views and opinions amongst fans on this whole subject

My position is very simple

I will support, to the hilt, whichever 11 players Mancini send out to represent City on ANY given occasion.

I will back Mancini. If he never selects him, so be it, if he does, he must have his reasons and in those circumstances failing to support Tevez is effectively failing to back Roberto

Trust Mancini and back his decisions

Sticks and stones Carlos...but you will be the real loser in all of this because you are destroying your own career. Looks like you'll be training on your own again-why don't you check the flight times back to Argentina?
