The Blues’ £38m summer signing, who has already been a big hit for Manchester City, was almost struck by a flying golf ball.
The striker was forced to dive for cover while he was playing at Ashton-on-Mersey Golf Club in Sale.
Ironically, it was a Blues fan who almost wiped out his new football hero with his wayward drive off the first tee.
Eight-handicapper Paul Crisp was playing in a knockout match when the drama happened.
“Sergio was near the trees and I shouted ‘fore’ when I saw the ball going towards him,” he explained.
“I didn’t realise who it was until I walked up to him. He was fine about it but the ball nearly took his head off.”
Aguero was playing with his interpreter and a friend – though their lack of golf etiquette was evident as the three-ball only had one set of golf clubs between them.
“The interpreter was joking that I can’t be a City fan because I was wearing a red top,” added Crisp, from Sale. “Sergio looked immaculate but I think his golf needs some improvement.
“I think the phrase is ‘all the gear and not much of an idea.’”
Aguero was following the advice of fellow Argentinian team-mate Pablo Zabaleta, who urged him to get to know the locals after his big money move from Atletico Madrid.
The Ashton-on-Mersey club is close to the City and United training grounds at Carrington and is a favourite haunt for Reds stars Jonny Evans and former keeper Edwin van der Sar.
Robbie Fowler, the former City striker, was also a regular there when he played for the club. Tweet

Paul: Judging by your almost deadly slice, you`re not in a position to criticize Sergio !
Kun stay away from this place. Too many reds there.
If they've only got one set of clubs between the three of them then it clearly isnt a case of 'all the gear and not much of an idea' is it now crispy?
Wow - what an amazing story:
"Player nearly hit by golf ball on golf course."
Can't wait for tomorrow's story.....
"Joe Hart today nearly trapped his fingers in the car door. Don't panic though, he moved them out of the way just in time, then he drove to the shop for milk."
Amazing.
