Newcastle midfielder and former Manchester City man Joey Barton has had his say on the latest Mario Balotelli incident.
Balotelli was hauled off early in City's last US tour game for a bizarre back-heeled effort on goal and subsequently rowed with boss Roberto Mancini.
And Barton said on his
Twitter account: "Mario Balotelli is fully off his barnet... from now on am referring to him as "The Renegade"... he amuses me greatly with his antics."
Barton, meanwhile, has been linked with a shock move to Manchester United but
downplayed those rumours at the weekend.

pot calling kettle black!!
Joey Barton - didn't he used to be a footballer once...?
all together now.."you'll never play for england, never play for england again"
At least Mario can get into America Joey
"from now on AM referring to him as"...... Hilarious, the guy can't spell but still has the audacity to cast judgement!
Article number 7.
Are we really interested in what this prat thinks...?? What a clown........
what kind of idiots would follow what this guy says on Twitter MEN?
Interesting quotes from United's top summer transfer target.
Now lads do not forget joey is the best midfielder england as to offer ! pmsl joey
Unfortunately Joey's antics make Mario look like Mary Poppins.
Nice hair style Joey! You remind me of my dad's army haircut circa 1953! Super Mario's a thousand times cooler than you'll ever be (and he's won trophies)!
With Joey's track record ,wouldn't you think he would be keeping a low profile, Still always seems a bit short in the knowledge department, anyway just a twit using twitter.
Joey who?
So I take it no one is too keen on one of your old favourites.......a product of your youth system.......who gave you 5 years of 'hard' (in the true sense of the word equaling thug) graft on the pitch, but hard times off it..........how fickle you lot are..........& by the way regardless of what you lot say or think, Joey Barton never has or never will be good enough to even be considered to play for the mighty Man.Utd.........''linked with a shock move to Man.Utd" my a*se........was that I pig I just saw fly over ?????? hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
And this is important because......?
Look, Joey Barton is a slightly better than average prem player with a terrible attitude who used to play for City once upon a time, many years ago. He narrowly avoided being sacked a few times and then went to play for Newcastle.
He is no longer a City player or important to the future of City. His views about City are irrelevant and unimportant. Why are MEN continually linking him ?
How can he say anything. He's the biggest nugget ever! Superrrrrr mariooooooo
Barnet! take a look In the mirror Mr Barton!
Dear joseph you need to sit back and take a hard look at yourself and your family name.Mario may let himself down with his stupid antics, but im trying to recall when he burnt someone in the eye, or ended up fighting outside a fast food joint. We wont even go down the prison route.
wtf has it got to do with him oh yes soon to become a yonited player his he free?
Can just see it now.... 'Balotelli runs at the united goal, megs Barton.... he's through, oooo what a goal! He has just back heeled the ball in past the helpless De Gea!'. You never know! ;)
CTID.
Good player for City when he wasn't handing in transfer requests or assaulting his team mates.
He calls him 'The Renegade' - We refer to Barton as 'Not Good Enough'
I dont understand why it takes all day to get a comment posted on this site. Lift your game MEN, this website is becoming a joke. Maybe it wasnt published because I bagged Joey Barton and the fact his name has been whispered to be of interest with a red team based somewhere near Manchester makes him out of bounds?
On another note - city associated with Ageuro, nsri and the drams of one Carlos Tevez...... reds with jones, young and an overpriced under experienced keeper.... wow how times have changed.... im not suprised the MEN are angry about it all!
Is there anything in life more fickle than a football fan?
