Thatcher out of Wales squad

MANCHESTER City defender Ben Thatcher has not been named in the first Wales squad since new manager John Toshack took over in November.

Toshack announced a 20-man squad for the home friendly with Hungary at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on February 9.

But Thatcher hasn't been included in that group, despite his three-match international ban from Fifa not applying for the friendly.

The left-back was cited by Poland for a stamp on Kamil Kosowski after the World Cup qualifier in October last year, and was handed a three match suspension and '3500 fine, although the ban doesn't apply to the Hungary friendly.

The full Welsh squad:

Coyne (Burnley), Crossley (Fulham), Collins (Sunderland), Edwards (Wolves), Gabbidon (Cardiff), Page (Cardiff), Partridge (Motherwell), Ricketts (Swansea), Roberts (Tranmere), Weston (Cardiff), Davies (Tottenham), Fletcher (West Ham), Giggs (Man Utd), Koumas (West Brom), Robinson (Sunderland), Savage (Blackburn), Williams (West Ham), Bellamy (Newcastle), Earnshaw (West Brom), Hartson (Celtic).

Ben Thatcher looks a bit sad now doesn't he ? Boyfriend says to girlfriend "I'm sorry I went with her. It was stupid. It was just a silly fling. Its you I love. Will you have me back ?" Girlfriend says "Sorry we've said our Goodbyes. I'm seeing someone else now. His name's Stephen. He's more reliable than you, he hasn't made any mistakes yet and he's got more staying power and what's more, he's younger and taller and fitter and he doesn't cost me as much money as you do !" If KK puts Thatcher back in the side with an available SJ on the bench he wants his head testing. It wouldn't surprise me if SJ then asked for a transfer at the end of the season. Seriously...the meaning of the word 'loyalty will need to be re-written for the Oxford Shorter. That would be the final, last, last, last, ultimate, absolutely end of the line, last straw in the world that will break the last donkey's (or camel's) back.

Is this because he couldn't agree personal terms with Toshack!?!
