1985: Born in Toulouse on July 26.

2002: Makes his professional debut for Cannes in the Championnat National, the third level of French football.

2003: August - Joins Arsenal for an undisclosed free.

October - Makes his club debut alongside Cesc Fabregas in a League Cup victory against Rotherham.

November - Makes his Premier League debut in a 3-0 win over Birmingham.

2004: February - Makes his Champions League debut in Arsenal's last-16 victory against Celta Vigo.

May - Arsenal secure the Premier League title and Clichy, at 18 years and 10 months, becomes the youngest player to win a league medal.

2005: May - Wins the FA Cup with Arsenal following a penalty-shootout win over Manchester United in the final, his third medal following Arsenal's Community Shield victory in 2004.

2006: May - Misses the Champions League final defeat to Barcelona with a foot injury.

2008: May - Ends the 2007/08 season having played every game for Arsenal. Makes the PFA Team of the Year and earns a contract extension with the Gunners.

September - Makes his senior international debut for France in a World Cup qualifier against Serbia.

2010: June - Makes his first major international tournament appearance for Les Bleus, playing in their final group fixture against hosts South Africa at the World Cup.

2011: February - Plays for Arsenal in their shock Carling Cup final defeat to Birmingham at Wembley.

July 4 - Joins Manchester City on a four-year contract.

Watched his interview on the club website and he comes over as a very articulate lad in his second language. Let's hope that he plays as well as he talks.
