Mike Whalley asks six Manchester City heroes to nominate their moments to remember from a glorious season.

Seeing Carlos Tevez lift the FA Cup was the sweetest moment of the season and a great reward for our fans who have waited so long for success.
I watched the final at Wembley with Francis Lee and Tony Book and it was a very special occasion for the three of us as it brought back a lot of memories of the success we were fortunate enough to enjoy.
But I can’t tell you how nervous I was beforehand. Even though most people made us favourites, I didn’t want to say or do anything to tempt fate – not when we were so close.
I also knew that Stoke would make it very difficult for us, so when Yaya Toure’s shot hit the net with 15 minutes to go, I felt a great sense of relief.
My hope now is that this is the start of something special, and I genuinely believe it will be. This is a club in good hands and moving in the right direction.
Tony Book
It’s been brilliant to see the way the Poznan celebration has become a part of City’s culture.
I don’t think any of us knew quite what to make of it the first time we saw it, when Lech Poznan came to the City of Manchester Stadium in the Europa League in October.
But the City fans – who have been brilliant all season – really took to it, and I thought it was a fitting way of paying tribute to Neil Young during the FA Cup tie at Leicester in January.
After the FA Cup win, I even joined in with the Poznan myself at the homecoming party. It was a great sight to see all the supporters around the stadium doing exactly the same thing that night.
It’s a sign of just how loyal the City supporters are that they’ve stuck with the club through some pretty lean times. They’ve never stopped supporting, and now they have their reward.

Do you really need me to tell you which game I enjoyed more than any other over the last 10 months? It has to be the FA Cup semi-final win over United.
There was so much at stake that day. Two closely-matched teams went head-to-head in the first Manchester derby to be played at Wembley, and both knew that the winners would be favourites to lift the cup.
It was such an important victory for us in the context of the season, because people were questioning us after the 3-0 Premier League defeat at Liverpool five days earlier.
The win was fully deserved. It demonstrated the belief in the squad and gave added belief to the supporters.
And it set us up for the remainder of the season. We won six out of our final seven games after the semi-final – and you all know about the rewards that came as a result.

I was pleased to see Joe Hart win City’s performance of the season award for his display at Tottenham on the opening day. It was a fantastic performance.
But there was a sign of his growing maturity as a goalkeeper in the return game at Eastlands in May, when City won 1-0 to secure a place in the Champions League.
He made an outstanding save late on in that game, having had very little to do up until that point. I think that’s a real tribute to his concentration levels.
I always remember Ray Clemence doing something very similar in an England game in which he’d been virtually a spectator. That was his forte because he used to do it at Liverpool too.
A top-class side need a goalkeeper who can cope with spending long periods without seeing much of the ball – and then pull off an outstanding save when needed. The fact that Joe can do that is a real encouragement both for him and City.

Carlos Tevez’s free-kick in the 3-0 league win over Stoke last month was so good, it even topped my goal against United at Old Trafford in 1990!
Joking aside, it was a great strike, with pace, power and accuracy. Even by Carlos’ standards, it was something special.
It was a worthy winner of the club’s goal of the season award.
And what a season it was. I always thought we would make the top four and qualify for the Champions League, but the way we finished the season really impressed me.
It showed there was a great ambition in the team to keep on pushing even when we’d won the FA Cup and secured the top-four spot with the win over Tottenham.
Carlos has been a big part of that, and I would love him to stay. But even if he does go, no one will be able to say that he didn’t give his best for the team while he was here.

The day that City really started to look like a Champions League team came on the Sunday afternoon in April when they dismantled Sunderland in about 30 minutes.
And that’s not an easy thing for me to say because I grew up as a Sunderland fan!
City had been threatening a performance like that for a while, but on that day it all came together in a terrific 5-0 victory.
I saw every home game bar one this season, and what was impressive for me was the way that City got better as they went on and then hit their best form during the run-in – when it mattered most.
David Silva was a revelation once he got used to the pace of the Premier League.
And finding a more attacking role for Yaya Toure later on in the season was a masterstroke.
What were your favourite moments? Have your say.

Seeing City beat United in the FA.CUP Semi final and then claiming the FA CUP after such a long time.
I was gutted to not see any footage of the old fellas celebrating at the FA Cup final.
That would have been a magical moment.
Did anyone film that?
Two away games stand out for me.........
The way we beat Wigan away early in the season was so professional and in the pouring rain it was tough conditions. But it made me realize we had really stepped up a level under Mancini - more ruthless and efficient. It was great. Same goes for that performance at Fulham but we had even more flair that day - that was the great thing about this season, you could see improvement every week...........
Screaming when Carlos stuck that one in against Chelsea, downing a nice glass of rosé when Tevez hoisted the FA Cup, shouting at the TV when Yaya scored in the semi and final, watching in amazement as City tore Fulham to shreds early on at the Cottage, Mario's wink at Wembley... and a whole lot more.
Potential season blowing moments, the selection of Boyata (even though a great prospect) against Arsenal at home, Bringing Viera on against Brum away and watching him give away a penalty.
Loads of moments. In order of sequence,
Joe Hart's superb breath taking display against Spurs.
England away at Switzerland where we had a total of six City players appearing in an England shirt in an important away win and a record for the club!
Blackpool away. A superb game of football with the result in doubt until the final whistle but also the match when Silva found his feet and scored a superb solo goal.
Lech Poznan home and away. We were dreadful away but these games started something that I notice Celtic fans have now taken up so The Poznan was introduced to the PL.
Fulham away, the performance even had Alan Green struggling for superlatives.
Nothing to do with us but as a lover of football, Barcelona v Real Madrid 29th November 2010, Nou Camp. The most complete performance I have seen by any team ever in over forty years of watching football and including the recent CL final at Wembley. I cannot find anymore words to describe this display but for those who love their football it was better than Ajax in the early seventies, the Brazilians of 1970 and 1982, Bayern in the mid 70's, AC Milan in the late 80's or Real Madrid 98-2002. All I can do is recommend that if you ever get the chance, get a DVD or TV replay and watch this from start to finish. What makes it all the more astonishing is that Madrid are a very good team - probably better than United. Barcelona tore them to shreds. It was the beautiful game!
City v Salzburg - Alan
Balotelli's hat trick against Villa.
The Sunderland 5-0 because it was the biggest.
Yaya Toure's goals against United and Stoke at Wembley. Both immense.
Nigel de Jong's long range power shot against West Ham.
Tevez's free kick against Stoke. Best of the season by any player in the PL!
Zabaleta for his total attitude.
David Silva for his sublime touch in virtually every game he has played.
Nigel de Jong every time he makes a tackle.
City beating Utd with out Tevez destroying and hammering Wigan at the swimming pool.
Poznan,Granny,Alan,Neil Young Scarves and tributes,Malcolm Allison tributes,Khaldoon's interview,Mancini song.......
The sad death of “Nellie”. I know your spirit was with Ya Ya when he hammered the 2 goals that firstly took us to the Cup final and then won us the Cup and I know Big Mal and Joe were looking down too.
The pleasure of seeing a player of the quality of David Silva in a City shirt.
Despite the uncertainty of his tenure Tevez’s goal that burst Chelsea’s balloon.
The Poznan
The Stoke supporters who stayed and applauded City at Wembley. That was Class and cannot be measured by how many pieces of silver you’ve sold your soul for.
Mancini. We’ve waited so long for someone like you.
The victory parade where we showed that Manchester really belongs to City.
Finally us fans who have endured so much for so long.
Beating United in the semi-final eradicated decades of frustration when it matter most. On that occasion I was transported to that magical isle of Cythera, an isle where Aphrodite was born, and Watteau made famous in his painting, an isle where I have remained ever since.
Wembley. About five minutes before Scholes got sent off.
I turned to my eldest lad and said 'Look at them. They are ALL at it."
Not only Kompany and De Jong, but the whole team seemed to be saying
'They ain't going to beat us this time'
That for me was the moment the team gelled as a TEAM.
We waited for Fergie's watch and the inevitable trick penalty, but they never came
because we never gave them a sniff. I never doubted for one minute that we would win.
Second half against Everton aside (and my oh my do I want us to beat that shower next year) we were awesome!
Being at wembley and forgetting all those years of hurt ! its priceless and i dont even think the sheik could afford it.
for me the moment of the season came after the final whistle in the fa cup semi marios wink at rio was pure genius what a guy
