Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini stands by Carlos Tevez claim

Carlos Tevez
Roberto Mancini is standing by his claims that Carlos Tevez will remain at Manchester City.

The Blues manager caught most observers on the hop immediately after Tuesday's 3-0 Premier League win over Stoke when he claimed Tevez had told him he wanted to remain with the Eastlands outfit.

Within 24 hours, the picture had become more clouded, with Tevez's representatives privately claiming the striker had said nothing of the sort.

Even senior figures within the club wonder whether Tevez's trusted advisor Kia Joorabchian is trying to find an alternative suitor, who would be willing to pay the vast transfer fee and wages the South American would command.

However, as he looked ahead to Sunday's trip to Bolton, Mancini was adamant Tevez is not about to make his final appearance for the club.

"I don't think it will be Carlos' last game," said Mancini.

"On Tuesday, I told you all my opinion and I am sure about this. But I can't continue to have a press conference to answer this question.

"I have spoken with Carlos. I have spoken with him many times in the last weeks and I don't need to speak with him again."

Mancini is not entirely convinced about quotes emerging from Argentina, attributed to Tevez, that the former West Ham star views his future as being elsewhere.

"I don't know if he has said these things," he said.

Comments

"Sometimes I have spoken to journalists in Italy and when the comments come back here, it is something completely different.

"I understand it can happen because of the translation.

"We have many important players; Carlos, Yaya Toure, David Silva, James Milner, Nigel de Jong. We want them all to stay here."

Meanwhile, Mancini has ruled out the chances of making a big-money move for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

After two seasons without any significant silverware since he moved to Real Madrid, it has been claimed Ronaldo is ready to leave the Bernabeu.

A £150million price tag is said to have been put on a player who cost Real a world record £80million when he left Manchester United following the 2009 Champions League final.

But Mancini laughed at suggestions he might be interested.

"We have signed Cristiano Ronaldo for £200million," joked the Italian.

"I said after the FA Cup final, I would like to sign Ronaldo, Messi, Fabregas and Iniesta. I don't think it is possible.

"I don't know why this has come out. I don't know anything about it.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is a fantastic player but I don't think he will leave Real Madrid."

What do you think? Have your say.

Please not Ronaldo, not even on a free. I detest him with a passion.

Fabregas or Nasri would be nice though!

Need to sort out Carlos's future, one way or another, as soon as possible otherwise there will be speculation every day. Hope he stays and hope the club will do everything to get him to stay.
As for Ronaldo well I did think we'd be linked with every player on the planet but probably not him or Messi. These stories again will be in the papers every day until midnight on 31st August so we best get used to them. Makes a change from being linked with players we've never heard of.

Even if Tevez leaves i still believe that this interview he is meant to have gave to an Argentina radio station is absolute rubbish. This story has came from the THE SUN every story that has been printed all over the internet has been quoted from it.

This is getting ridiculous, will he stay won't he stay.

Carlos needs to come out and tell US what is happening, not a radio station in Argentina.

I have a city away shirt with King Carlos on the back. Will Carlos reimburse for me this? I think not.

I also have a tattoo on my left arm, King Carlos - City Legend. Will Carlos pay for me to have this removed? Again I think not.

So come on Carlos, just tell us one way or the other. And if you do leave, don't even bother getting on the bus for our parade.

I trust Mancini to do the right thing for Manchester City.

I want Carlos to do the right thing for him (but make a decsion on what that is sooner rather than later, in fairness to all involved...including the fans). I'd prefer he stays, but only if he wants to.

I do not trust his agent as far as I could throw him

Whatever the outcome, it takes nothing away from what Tevez has contributed to this club, but does not change what we can go on to achieve with these owners, this manager and the core of this team.

Its getting soap opera ridiculous isn't it.........whats next, a source close to Tevez claims that the Mancini giving those quotes isnt Mancini at all - Of course it isnt you fools - it is infact his evil twin brother 'Rolando' Mancini...........You know, the one who found the jade emerald that was cursed...........

We have the money, the resources and the contacts so lets settle this once and for all by bugging Tevez's phone, car, clothes, entire house and even his under-wear. We'll swap all his mirrors for those two way ones the FBI use and journalists can sit behind them 24/7 and wait for him to utter something conclusive and factual in "privacy". Im assuming it'll be either -

a) "Christ i hate Manchester City - the weather, the food, Oasis and especially Mancini - but hey, at least i bled them dry" - (followed by a slow building ever increasing in volume evil laugh that borders on the insane - Mr Burns Style).

OR

b) "Why oh why do i keep getting mis-translated. The only thing i love more than Manchester City is my daughters. Everything from the way Bobby wears his scarf, to Davids wonderful half time flamenco's, to playing darts with Mario. Why won't the media just let us live and love each other in peace - WHYYYYYYYY"......(as he picks up a framed smiling picture of himself sat on Vincent Kompany's knee, he then descends helplessly into a heart wrenching flood of tears that, like all the speculation, just will not stop)........

Problem solved, lets move on....................

Carlos is in an awkward position, a pawn of Kia his agent where there is no commission coming in unless he can be moved on.
My guess is that less than 4 European clubs can afford the fee and also the wages thats if they want to buy and if we want to sell.
Tevez not the sharpest pencil in the box maybe does not realise that he is only 2 years into a 5 year deal at Gods own club.
My best guess is that as in January we will call Kia's bluff and see who comes in or not, maybe negogiate a wages increase to hold Tevez for another season and perhaps a sweetner to Kia and then let him go summer 2012.

Incidently - i know we dont want to pay silly money but in my opinion Iniesta, in the current market, is worth 60 million. Lets offer it to Barca - they can only say no............

Iniesta - 60 M
Sanchez - 22 M
Jose Enrique - 13 M

So thats 95 million

Then sell

Ade - 15 M
Bellamy - 5 M
SWP - 5 M
JO - 4 M
RSC - 5 M
Bridge - 5 M
Onuoha - 8 M
Caicedo - 1 M (thats all we can ask for apparently)
Given - 5 M (Keep Taylor and get a new young goalie with potential for peanuts as 3rd choice)

Thats 53 Million in and a wedge saved on wages - a Net spend of 42 Million, thats within our fair play allowance im sure............

Still regurgitating the same old story. All you've done is just dress it up differently. I think we've all had our say on this already.

It is me, he keeps saying family commitments are making it difficult to stay at city. Therefore a move back to Argentina and is old club Boca would be ideal. Then it is said that Boca would not be able to meet his financial needs or transfer fee. Okay, maybe City can have first refusal on all up and coming talent coming out of Boca for a reduced fee and Tevez accepts a pay cut. In any case I cannot see him or his agent accepting that kind of deal! I suspect it boils down to greed. I hope I am wrong and he stays and finishes his contract. If not thank you Carlos for your considerable efforts make a statement now that you are off to Spain or Italy so that City can move on and try to quickly find a suitable replacement.

Ha,even your manager is deluded.
"I never said Carlo was staying"
Funny that Robert, all I've been hearing all week from city fans is "he's staying, mancini said he's been told by carlo"

This is getting silly now, he is staying, he is going! he needs to come out and tell us himself. i would love him to stay but if he can't see that we are the future power in football then we all must move on and go our seperate ways.

The state of limbo keeps the Evening News filling acres of cyberspace every day. Who knows what's happening?

What I do know is Carlos will not get a better deal anywhere else or be more appreciated anywhere else. If he wants out - fine - ship out and thanks for the goals. But anyone bidding for him must be able to offer Champions League football and be in a position to at least match his current wages.

Who can do this?
Barca. (Skint)
Real Madrid. (Skint).
Inter Milan (At an absolute push - it would be a step down in any case).

The only choice he has is to count his blessings and honour his contract. If he goes, then if Torres is worth £50m, Carlos is worth more than the £158m we're supposedly bidding for Ronaldo!

Please can we just focus on beating Bolton & moving the 'Team' forward to new horizons!
Great player, energy, drive, passion etc etc - but this story has run out of legs. (sorry no pun intended!) The only people who know what will be will be the City board/manager & Tevez+KJ (agent) - the media know S.F.A. Bottom line Manchester City are a team where we have great players (Tevez included) & we have a fantastic opportunity to become a great club side over the next few years. But first let's finish 3rd & build for the future, either with or without Tevez City will move forward to greater things.
The sky is BLUE!

Until the club announces it, he's going nowhere. If we pay too much attention to media tittle-tattle we'd lose a sense of who we are. We're the best team in the land and all the world. We've got the best fans, the best sense of humour and pride in ourselves that we never became a red loving sheep - we're individuals that chose style, pride and passion over glory hunting. Carlos knows that; he knows who we are. He loves the club and the fans - he just can't seem to get the family balance right. If he can sort that he'll stay here, no question.

City have just bought a 17yrs old Dennis Suarse from Celta Vega. A midfielder in the Jack Wiltshire mold. One for the future, Beating Barcelona to him. Look it up lads and ladies.

Anyone with a bit of nous saw through the understand Tevez came to with the board earlier this year - stay until the end of the season and you can then leave with our blessing. Therefore this is the most expected transfer of all time...can't believe anyone was naive enough to think he'd stay. I'm just buzzing that he's got us where we want to be i.e. in the CL and a major trophy under our belt and now we can progress onward & upwards next season. We'll play more as a team without him as seen when he wasn't in the team. He goes with my blessing now. Let's have a clean slate and buy a couple of quality players. Mancini does not leave with my blessing however and I think we're crazy to get rid of him.

If Mancini says Carlos is staying, then he must have gotten his words for it. If however, Carlos decides to to stay, its not the end of the world. We love him and wish him luck.
