Toure: Mancini key to my City move

Yaya Toure has said manager Roberto Mancini was a key part of his move to Manchester City.

The Ivory Coast midfielder was courted by a number of clubs but eventually opted to move from Barcelona to Eastlands.

"When you sign for any team, the most important thing is the contact you have with the trainer," he said.

"When they do something and they put pressure on in some way to sign you it is very important.

"When you don't talk with the trainer it is bad.

"That is why I came to Manchester City. We have a fantastic coach and we are signing good players. It will be great here this year."

City face Tottenham on Saturday and Toure added: "I love the Premier League.

"I have always wanted to play here. The biggest players play here.

"People like Steven Gerrard and my biggest friend Didier Drogba.

"Physically it is good. You have to be strong and I am thirsty to do well here.

"There are so many big teams - Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and the rest.

"But City are here now and maybe for United that is not so nice because we are making good progress.

"I really want to see how they do against us."

Big & powerful, strong in the tackle, a good passer of the ball with a decent shot on him (needs to put his shooting boots on for the next game). Not sure about his prowess in the air because I haven't seen him go up for that many high balls, which in one way is good because I like to see the ball played on the floor. We now have some physically imposing players in the team which bodes well for games against the likes of Stoke and Blackburn.

Apart from being an astounding player I like his mental attitude too. Along with his skill and reading of the game, he has intelligence and drive...a lethal combination. We have really won the lottery through our great sheikh. And Mancini is acting out all our desires with the choice of players. We will be so good I cant quite comprehend it yet.

Has the resignation of Martin O'Neill brought the 'Blue pages' of this site to a full stop?

As at 20:46, Mon 9th August, there has been no comment uploads on this and the previous 4 threads since 15:58......I wait with baited breath to find out what is happening out there?

Off to make some cocoa and a sneaky slice of toast and then will return at the stroke of midnight to see when/if this is posted before midnight!

I will expect Adder's to keep watch thereafter and inform me of any activity during his overnight shift session.
