City in talks with Real Sociedad over Jo sale

Manchester City are talking to Real Sociedad about the sale of one-time record signing Jo.

The Blues splashed out around £18million for the Brazilian back in summer 2008, but he never settled at Eastlands and has since been on loan spells at Everton and Galatasaray.

However, Spanish outfit Sociedad are only prepared to pay half of the £5m City want.

What do you think? Have your say.

Only prepared to pay 2.5 million. Says it all about this great waste of space. Its not only that he couldnt cut it at City or Everton but his discipline was pretty bad too. The so called modern professional footballer. Disgrace really.

The sooner he is out of the club with that other waster Robinho the better.

They onle want to pay 2.5 million?? Surely we can get more than that for this waste of space!

Just get rid.

One of the worst buys ever, just get him off the pay roll. Was never strong enough for the Premier League, time to move on..

why don't city pay the other half of the £5million. and get rid of him..lol..
i never thought i'd see a worse premiership forward at city than Samaras..
then Jo signed, and i now have...

even though he will forever be known as £18m signing Jo there is no way City parted with anything like that much money for him.

Think he has to go and given we did get loan fees for him in the last couple of seasons if we get £3m or £4m for him sure the club will at least break even on him.

Taxi for Jo....

Another waste of space Brazillian. Apart from the lad who was at Arsenal who's name escapes me, has any Brazillian ever made it in the prem ? No.

Even though he will forever be known as £18m Jo, there is no way the club ever parted with anything close to that fee.

Given we got loan fees for him last year I think City will be realistic and take £3m to £4m for him, got to start moving the spare capacity out of Eastlands now.

There are a number of players to be moved on now, one or two of which will no doubt upset some fellow supporters.

Snap their hands off for it. 2.5 mill is the best that we will get and we will get rid of his wage from our books.

Thank God we have professionals in charge these days

I am surprised they are prepared to offer that much!!! Cheers and goodbye Jo...

can't believe we are getting rid of him, I really thought he'd come good this season. Mancini out!

I seem to remember this fella was signed by Thaksin and his advisors, not one of the best moves our former owner ever made, but lets not gripe, we only paid around £4 million up front for him alledgedly with the rest on appearances and City winning trophies, so we lose nothing selling him for £2-3 million. seems he is beset by attitude problems, not just at City, but Everton and later in Turkey (Galatasaray was it?) where he had a reputation for partying. He will never play for City again so get what we can for him!

Gosh! I forgot we had him on the books. Shows how far we have come in the last 12 months. There's talk today that Santa Crock is being used as a 'sweetner' in our bid to land Dzeko. Let's throw in Jo as well and lighten the squad a bit. In fact, throw in Caicedo too and all we have to do is find a suitable swap for Robinho and we are well on our way.

If that is uniteds latest shirt then the collar should cause enough drag to stop the world spinning.

Take what you can get. Another waste of a squad number

Jo's scoring record before he came to us was excellent, so £2.5 million is ridiculous. I think he could do well in Spain - very well indeed for £5 million!

Jo, Jo ...quick, quick GO !!!

do we need the money...NO!
is he fit to wear a city shirt...NO!
would we miss him in our squad...NO!
are sociedad going to rival us due to this signing...NO!
GET RID!

Just sell the bloke and it sorts it out.

He is a joke i dont blame them for only wanting to pay 2.5 million. Cant see him setting La liga on fire really.

Either money seems no subject. People who say so must realize it's not their or the clubs money. Stop behaving like a spoiled rag. What Real Sociedad is offering is ridiculous. Not even worth picking up the phone or reading a fax.

Jo would not be the first (or the last) player to be labelled a complete mishit to shine under a new manager and finalyy growing up. Either the club sees how he performs or sell him if a reasonable bid comes in. And what's reasonable is up to the board, not to one of a few on here that are only interested in playing soccer-manager.
