Robinho scored Brazil's third goal with a crisp finish and looked to be back to his best in a lively performance.
City paid £32.5m for Robinho, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Santos.
Should City bring Robinho back? Have your say.

We have a much better set up now at Manchester City than we had when he went on loan to Santos.
If Roberto Mancini is the manager I believe he is and Robinho is the world class player we all know he is then I'm sure everyone can benefit in the forthcoming season.
Players like Robinho just get better when the players around them are good, just look at Brazil.Robinho is actually playing better than Kaka now.
We are certainly going to have an excellent team if any of the players mentioned in the press join us in the summer and we know some have or will.

Unlike the usual suspects that sit back moan and take there money.
He looks a better player, bring him back, with the protecttion of Yaya he will have the freedom that he needs to allow him to thrive.
If he doesnt want to come back then sell him, but not on the cheap.

How on earth we have got ourselves into this position with a truly world class player is beyond belief.
City fans have short memories on how good he was in the first season. AND they forget that last September, playing a friendly for Brazil, he broke his ankle and was out injured for 3 months.
Get Robbie back now or get a decent price for him. If no club is interested at a decent price, bring him back and stick him on the bench until he realises he will have to change.
If the crowd get behind him the smile will soon come back and the goals will flow.

1st Point - Ask Mark Hughes
2nd Point - Most City fans don't have short memories. His goals in his first season got us to 10th place (4th from bottom without them?)
It is the Manu media who slag him (and Elano) off. Anything to snipe at City. For example, Barry loses the ball the other day on the end of the Germany box - something Rooney did endlessly - but it it Barry's fault that the Germans run 80 yds past our one solitary defender to score. Unbelievable.

Let's see how he does against Holland. I hope he plays well and comes back. And he would come back if he had a real role to play in the new-vamped team. But if Brazil lose against Holland, he and others will be so slammed in Brazil that he'll never be a good player again, like Ronaldinho Gaucho, Ronaldo, Adriano, Juninho Pernambucano, Cafu, R Carlos etc after the loss to France in 2006. Only Kaka and Lucio survived.
We should also have never let Elano go. He was a creative passer and always put players in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper, when idiot MH wasn't asking him to play De Jong's or Richard's roles that is.
Brazil's approach is very complicated, and Robinho is part of the package. But, basically, Brazil doesn't allow its forwards to drift back to help out much, (coz they bring opposing defenders with them to their own defence) coz if the midfield or defence get the ball back again, then there's nobody upfield to pass it to. MH couldn't grasp that simple principle, (nor could Rooney against Russia when he rushed back to help the defence, committed a foul and Russia scored the equalizer from the free-kick) and then RM inherited a disilusioned, spoiled little brat.
What I don't want at City is a team of tryers. I would like to see gifted players, disciplined, coz they get paid millions, and creative and intelligent on the pitch. I'd prefer Robinho and Elano's off-the-field manners to Gerrard's fights, Terry's & Cole's affairs and Rooney's swearing. I'd prefer to see every England intnl out, Barry, Bridge, Lescott, SWP, Richards OUT; all ABSOLUTELY USELESS I'd prefer to see real talent like Ramires, Neymar, Nilmar, Patos or our own Ashley Young than truck-drivers like Milner. I don't want to see Bellamy anymore. Sick of his tantrums. I don't wanna see Adebayor wearing Arsenal or gangland t-shirts, nor do I wanna see RSC/Veira warming the bench with no function.
I don't blame Cook or any of City's board for some bad signings. They've brought us hope and ambition at last. I used to get sick of hearing City fans saying they'll be glad to stay up or finish in the top 10. I grew up when City had Bell, Lee and Summerbee. I can NEVER accept less than those days, and anyone who plays a sport and demands a fortune in wages should expect to be the best, that's why I like players who train their skills, believe in themselves, don't cry, know their strengths and weaknesses and know where they want to be at the end of the season; Tevez, De Jong, Kompany, Zabaleta, Given, Hart (who went off to improve himself like Robinho) , and I want us to retain the talent that we have to be shaped into winners, faster runners and better thinkers, like the Johnsons, Weiss, Ireland, (Very Brazilian in skill, but too slow at present to be a Brazilian.....) Zabaleta and others.
We have a great future, but we should never pay a lot for pure rubbish and work-horses like cross-the-ball-in-Milner when we have Robinho on a contract.

So the cynic in me hopes that Robbie will have an outstanding World Cup campaign, his valuation will sharply rise and we use him as a part-ex swap with a leading light at Barca. Hopefully everyone will be satisfied then.

The Big-4 media are desperate to portray Robinho as a failure, to keep the status quo. It is impossible that we can not find a way to make this player happy and productive for us. But we have to move on beyond the "every player has to defend" mentality that is fine for the workhorse teams, but not a team heading to the top.

End of the day, we know Brazilians will play out of their skin for the national team.
Robinho has a lot to prove at club level in Europe. Like Madrid, we've been impressed with what he CAN do, but disappointed with what he most often does do.
Maybe he just doesn't want to prove it in Europe. Maybe he wants to live in Brazil and play for Brazil. That's fine, except for the big contract he put his name to and the large amounts of money involved.
I'd love to see him at his best for City again, but club football requires consistency, and we've seen little evidence of that.
