Manchester City

Would you like the City section of the MEN site to be blue?

Regular users of the MEN website will know that we recently overhauled the site with a new look and a host of new features.

The site now has bigger pictures, brighter features and better interaction for readers. The changes we made have been largely welcomed by users but some City fans complained that the new colour scheme was a little too 'red' for their liking.

We are always pleased to welcome the huge numbers of City fans who visit our site to follow the latest news from Eastlands and join the debate with our writers, so the technical wizards at the MEN have had another look at the design of the site.

They are looking at a blueprint for the City pages of the MEN site which should be more in tune with your colour tastes. It would make headlines and links blue instead of red, and change the colour of our masthead too.

However, before we make any changes, we wanted to give you the chance to say if you would prefer the City section to be blue, or if you like it the way it is.

Take part in our poll by casting your vote in the box on the right (scroll down the page a bit to see it) or post your comments below.

And if you have any other suggestions or comments about the new-look MEN website, please get in touch.

I'd prefer a few more good articles and a lot less deference to SAF and OT.

It should never have been red in the first place but I suppose we can attribute that to the rapier like wit of a rag in the "technical" dept

Any poll will be obviously skewed by your London/Hong Kong readers who in the absence of any transfer news whatsoever regarding their declining club will assuage their boredom by trying to sabotage said poll.

The result will tell us what the percentage of obsessed rags are that come on here. It was 7% a minute ago and has just gone up to 9%

I would rather the united section be done in blue plus everytime you select an article about united blue moon starts playing the background

Don't start feeling an inferiority complex about being a United biased paper

It makes sense Yoonited being in the red in all ways, especially at the bank !

If you're reaaly going to make the blue half (ie 75%) of Manchester feel more at home, try talking about our club with the same reverant tones you currently reserve for the rags.
From an aesthetic point of view, the text in white on a sky blue background might be nice..

Just accompany all 'nited articles with a soundtrack of "Money's too tight to mention... cut back"

Oh and stop all the nited numpties posting on our side

This is rather like asking an Englishman "do you want England to win the World Cup?". In other words there's no need for a pointless poll. Just do it!!!!

I can't believe that you're actually asking the question.

i couldn,t really give a toss what you do with it to be honest, but what in will say is get a reporter that doesn,t support the rags, wow i think i upset a few with that one.

thre real mark jones.

Sorry but We aren't that fickle, although MUEN might care to think that... have any shade of red for all I care, although a large portion of Norwich fans in the area may prefer Green and yellow

Blue City pages,of course! Also, there's far too much red biass.

City pages should be blue. As for the rest of the site why not make it yellow and black which is the traditional colour scheme of the MEN logo? Then eveyone will be happy, simples....

God, I don't care. But what would be nice would be a link to the City page from the front page, like there was on the old site. Up the top where it says "News" "Sport" "Entertainment" etc can we have tabs for City (and United, if you must).

Report This Reply

Unimportant.

It should be stronger side's colour.

We lost three times last season so we can't complain.

Is there a way to stop the inane posts from United fans ?

It gets boring and ends up in name calling.I do not mind proper football discussion, even gentle banter, but it gets out of hand sometimes. To be honest it would do the MEN no harm to get behind City more and realise they are going to sell more papers with further high profile signings and good chance of success on the horizon.

Not really worried about the colour. Please just give us a link from the front page. Thanks

Yes please asap..........

Oh and those who want to write some long diatribe, cut and paste the above and stick it in as well, separately, so the adjudicators can see it!

Generally the British media, is pro Man Utd and anything that threatens their dominance is ridiculed and criticised. I have lost count of the number of headlines where "City have been snubbed by ....." very often these articles have little basis in fact but true City supporters are fed up with the constant press negativity.
We are not helped by the fact last year we lost our MEN dedicated City reporter and the previous MEN owners the "local" Guardian Group where taken over by Trinity Mirror plc. Nethertheless we must work with the new regime.
I was encouraged by Stuart Brennan's willingness to interact online with all supporters in the "sports editors online forum" at the end of last season. As our local paper the MEN should be progressive and a true refuge for all City supporters as well as reflecting the legitimate views of our red rivals. The blue side deserve at least one dedicated City reporter there should be more instant updating of supporters comments to make the forums more interactive. I would welcome changing the colours on the forum but it is only "window dressing" what we need is for the MEN to give supporters a proper voice and to genuinely embrace the massive and growing support for Man City in the new "City dominated era".
