Flitcroft appointed Chorley boss

Ex-Manchester City midfielder Garry Flitcroft has been named manager of non-league Chorley in succession to former Hyde United chief Steve Wayall.

Flitcroft's appointment to the Victory Park hot-seat follows his resignation from Chorley's UniBond North neighbours Leigh Genesis after they narrowly failed to make the play-offs.

Flitcroft made well over a hundred appearances for the Blues from 1991-1996 before he was sold to Blackburn for £3.5million.

Not really a City story though is it. He played longer for Blackburn and wanted to leave when the club wanted to sell him

Why is this a story of any interest to anyone who supports Manchester City? - he couldent wait to bail out and go to Blackburn when they waived wads of cash at him, despite owing his development to our youth system.
Gives us stories that have some remote interst to Manchester City fans MEN please.

I don't think we had much choice. If I remember correctly, we were skint at the time. In fact, we have off-loaded far too many good players because we've been skint and needed the money over the years.
