6 ZABALETA hashed a great chance, out of position for Hammers goal, and took some nasty knocks
6 TOURE given a hard time by Cole, and needs to get back to some basics in the summer
7 KOMPANY Composed and collected, strong and committed – one of the success stories of season
7 SYLVINHO Went hunting a goal in his final City game, and had an attractive, adventurous game
7 WRIGHT-PHILLIPS Made a pitch for Nat Lofthouse role with his far post header. Breezy and bright
7 DE JONG Winding down after a long, hard season in the trenches, but kept Hammers under thumb
6 VIEIRA Too many sloppy passes, not enough spring in the legs – could have been his last game
8 A. JOHNSON set out to finish the season on a big high, and lit up a fairly dull afternoon
7 ADEBAYOR denied by fine Green save, and a constant threat to the Hammers defence
5 SANTA CRUZ drew a veil over a miserable season for him personally with a slow, uncertain display
Substitutes RICHARDS (for Sylvinho 73) joined in Johnson’s fun 6
TEVEZ (for Santa Cruz 73) rapturous reception, bad miss! 6
CUNNINGHAM (for Johnson 89) no time to mark
Not used: Nielsen, Boyata, Cunningham, Garrido, Ibrahim

Couldn't agree more. Santa to go, along with Viera (fantastic player at Arsenal but not one for the future), Bridge, Silvinho (ditto Viera), Boj (would have loved him to succeed), Benji, Robinho, Garrido, Caicedo, Petrov (occasionally brilliant but lacking consistency) and Jo. I'd love Michael Johnson, Micah, Stevie and SWP to stay and really push on. Worth another season with the potential to establish themselves again. I love Zab but sometimes he flatters to deceive. He could be so much better.
I reckon Bellamy is a Spurs player already. Great season though and really up in my estimation.

100% agree, did you read my earlier post on another thread!
in the past it was back to square one but this time we are within sight of a team who can challenge.
Only 8 defeats but its the draws that cost us, get the players in we need and I would say we can challenge the top 2.
No need to sell, players like Ireland, Bridge and RSC can go out on loan and get their confidence back whilst taking points off our rivals!
Plenty to look forward to.

We definitely need two strong midfielders with youth and energy and two new fullbacks (hopefully Boateng is nailed on to sign for us).

One wonders what on earth, unless backhanders were going on, would let Hughes think that Toure the clown, Bridge and Santa Cruz were ever worth more than a free transfer.
When I see stupid comments on here from city supporters including Bridge and Toure in a future city team I have to ask what are u thinking and do u ever attend a game.?
So whenever anyone one like Ted Knott, he is an ex Ken Dodd diddy man, start complaining about Mancini, temper that with the fact that he is trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs arse in motivating this team of deadbeats put together by the Welsh wonderman.
Please Roberto ditch these three along with Barry, De Jong and lazy Adebayor. And please bring back Hart, everyone and his dog is raving about him and hes at Birmingham, come on!

So how, pray, do you explain the results against Chelski, Arsenal, Villa and Liverpool?
murray helm (10/05/2010 at 01:21)
Fulop 7 - Did all that was asked of him. Made some timely interventions.
Kompany 7 - Another accomplished performance
Silvinho 7 - With performances like this, both in defence and attack, it's hard to understand why his appearances have been so restricted. A better player than Bridge.
Toure 6 - Improving slowly but his lack of height will always be a problem.
Zabaleta 8 - A warrior who played right across the back four without issue. Hearty tackles and saved his centre halves on more than one occasion. MoM
Viera 6 - Another improved performance but has clearly lost the athleticism of the past. City desperately need someone like him in midfield. Can do a job for France this summer in a tournament where you get more time on the ball. The EPL is too fast and physical for him nowadays.
de Jong - 7 Consistent. Perhaps my favourite player though I have to admit he is nothing more than a stopper
Johnson 8 - Best attacking player. His combinations with SWP where the big success story.
SWP 7 - Very busy, always a threat, saw a lot of the ball. His final ball is still frustratingly unreliable. What an aerial threat :)
RSC 5 - Really feel for Roque. He is a big guy who has had a lot of injuries. He is very rusty, short on confidence and needs a spell free from injury. Nothing that a couple of goals and a bit of luck won't put right. Loan him out.
Ade 7 - Good performance. Worked hard for the team.

actually it was only 7 defeats, which only chelsea bettered (6) and only utd otherwise matched... and fewer away defeats (4) than anyone else. so you're right, it was definitely the draws that cost us (as well as a tendency to concede crucial late goals, in key matches... nuff said...)
but next season will be no easier. liverpool will re-group, and spurs and villa will also buy in players in the summer, so top 4 next year will be even harder. there are now seven teams who might challenge for those places. plus everton....
can't wait, already...
COME ON CITY.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it's all Mancin's fault? After inheriting a team led by a poor manager Mancini has steered us to a credible 5th spot. As for Khaldoon Al Mubarak's vote of confidence this stay of execution is going to be a long one as Mancini will be City manager for 'years and years to come'.
I've called on you Ted, on a number of occasions, to share your wisdom and tell us how you would take our team forward. You are full of ideas of what is wrong but seemingly you haven't a clue on how we move forward. Easy isn't it?
