Manchester City

Blues re-united at Macc

TWO former Blues are back together again, but this time it's Moss Rose not Moss Side.

Ex-City manager Brian Horton, who took over the reins at Macclesfield Town last season, has recruited former Blues stalwart Ian Brightwell as his reserve team boss.

'Bobby' Brightwell spent most of his career at City before leaving in 1998 for Coventry, then spells at Walsall, Stoke and Port Vale.

Said Horton: "I'm pleased to have Ian on board and I've also signed him on playing forms should we need to use him in an emergency. He is very experienced and could still do a job if we needed him."

not a lot of people know that in fact, Ian "Robbie" Brightwell is the son of famous Olympic athletes Anne Packer and Jeffrey Archer....
(er, isn't that Robbie Brightwell rather than Jeffrey Archer, ED)
