Redknapp wary of City threat

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp reckons Manchester City are the team to beat when it comes to the race for fourth place.

Spurs are battling it out for fourth with City, Liverpool and Aston Villa and Redknapp sees Roberto Mancini's fifth-placed City side - level on points with Spurs with a game in hand - as the biggest threat.

Redknapp said: "We're right in there and have got a great chance. Manchester City are the team to watch out for."

Redknapp is as aware of the obvious as anyone - to come fourth you can only let 3 teams do better of the season than you do. They're all dangerous, so keep performing well - and keep winning, City!

Lets simplify all this chat, talk and predictions from many areas. Of the big teams, Spurs have to play the top 3 plus City. Liverpool play the top 2 but have played more. Villa has the far easiest run in and games in hand. But as long City do THERE JOB there should be no reason to be concerned, it's in there own hands. Again!!

if we make the top 4 this season , we will be there for quite a few years , we will have more massive investment , and you never know city fans might outnumber the scum fans watching on telly , in your local watering hole , proclaiming to be hardcore supporters , with the "i cant get a ticket" excuse.

What he means is that he always gets a team into administration. So spurs are sure to have points taken off them.

He knows we are the main threat and he knows his team will fall away fairly soon when they come up against Chelsea, Arse and Man U in consecutive matches followed up by an away trip to Eastlands which, contrary to Stuart Brennan, I would have down as a home win.

I saw the Spurs Made in Croatia goal the other day. They have a lot of quality and are the only other team apart from us in the mix to have a decent squad beyond the first 11.

We need to hope the replay against Fulham is taxing but Spurs go through with cards and bumps aplenty, and then have extra time plus penalties against Portsmouth with more bumps and cards. I fancy Portsmouth to cause an upset.

What I honestly believe Mancini needs to do is to make Craig Bellamy captain and let him demand that we go for it at a high tempo in every game.

We can't keep slipping into slow paced football, we have the ammunition that the teams we will be playing don't, we have more quality players, we should have fresher legs, we have to go all out attack.

This is the final third of the season, you have to dominate and seek to exploit the match fatigue of the lesser teams.

Against Sundeland, I want us to play a high line, hog possession and look to carve out quality, precision chances for our nippy players to exploit.

I do not want to see us play three holding midfielders and slow the whole game down to walking pace.

If Steve Bruce isn't mouthing another sackload of excuses after 90 minutes then we haven't done our job and we can't finish fourth.
