5 RICHARDS Strong and positive one moment, hesitant and uncertain the next
6 TOURE Marshalled the defence well, and his forward gallops could achieve cult status
6 LESCOTT One of his better games, and unlucky to concede the penalty
7 BRIDGE Much smarter in his choices, which meant he defended and attacked well
8 WRIGHT-PHILLIPS Scored the vital goal, almost had a penalty, and always posed problems
6 IRELAND Prodded and prompted to good effect, enjoying the return of Robinho
6 DE JONG In an attacking line-up, he fulfilled a vital role sitting in front of the back four
6 ROBINHO Rusty at times, and tired towards the end, but still showed flashes of class
6 TEVEZ Flattered to deceive, a very bright and inventive start turning into a below-par display
5 ADEBAYOR Still not 100 per cent fit – or maybe he has been saving himself up for Arsenal …
Substitutes SANTA CRUZ (for Adebayor 67) Barely had a touch 5 BELLAMY (for Robinho 76) no time
Not used: Taylor, Onuoha, Kompany, Johnson, Weiss
HULL: Duke, McShane, Gardner, Zayatte, Dawson, Garcia, Marney (Boateng 61), Bullard, Hunt, Geovanni (Barmby 61), Altidore (Vennegoor of Hesselink 73)
Battle of the bosses: No half-time talk on the pitch from Phil Brown, but he had his men fired up, while Hughes’ men lost their way

We need a proven international class winner like Hiddink.
This season is falling apart slowly

Robbie looked good in flashes, Adebayor not really in the game and Tevez for all his hard running still can't hit the target enough for a £25 million striker. Wish Hughes had brough Kompany on to help see out the game and shut up shop to win 1-0 rather than trying to score another as we just didn't look like doing so.
I think we need to re-think the tactics and change the formation which means one of the strikers will have to be sacrificed. Would love to see Weiss play on Wednesday to give SWP a rest too.

Well, well, well...the worm has turned, hasn't it? C'mon Woolley, now it's time for you to MAN UP and apologize to Duk Egg and finally admit that his judgment re footballing matters is easily superior to yours! On the other hand, I want to personally congratulate Mr. Woolley One for casting aside his Clapperistic pretensions and finally embracing the most-worthy mantle of Post-Clapperism.

The team has looked more solid the last couple of games. Shay Given had nothing to do, more than try and keep out a dodgy penalty. If it was a penalty SWP's was a stone waller.
Sometimes you just need a bit of luck.

Hughes doesn't appear tactically aware and his substitutions were like for like, therefore bringing no variation to the approach.
Adebayor looked lethargic and spent far too much time out and nobody got hold of the midfield whereas Bullard was keeping everything going for Hull ( despite being out injured for a long spell. RSC contributed nothing having been brought on,
Ireland didn't have a good game, with too many balls being given away, so bringing Johnson or Kompany into midfield might have cut down the effect Bullard was having, but it was not to be.
Hughes ( and his managemnt team ) are playing into the hands of his critics, and bad results in the next two games will see the pressure increase considerably, possibly to breaking point with many more dissenters calling for him to be replaced.
He needs to be decisive and quickly, because many more performances like this, considering the amount of money he has had available to him, will surely bring about his demise.
