Tevez upbeat over Argentina

CARLOS Tevez insists Argentina have no reason to envy Spain and is looking ahead to next summer's World Cup with confidence.

The reigning European champions beat Argentina on Saturday, when two goals from Xabi Alonso sealed a 2-1 friendly win in Madrid.

But Tevez feels his team's performance at the Vicente Calderon stadium is cause for optimism.

"We could have won," said the City striker. "We played much better than at other times. Argentina are progressing and I'm sure we are going to arrive at the World Cup in good shape.

"The players have nothing to be jealous of Spain for. We've shown that we deserve to be in the World Cup."

As you're obviously new to this football lark, I'll explain. They are footballers who have each won more medals than any city player has for the last third of a century and more. I hope that helps.
