CITY have completed the signing of former Barcelona defender Sylvinho on a one-year deal.
And although there has been a late hitch in completing the deal to bring Joleon Lescott to City, the Blues are confident of finalising the £24m deal tomorrow.
Lescott has passed a medical and the hitch isn't related to personal terms or the fee between the Blues and Everton.
And the Goodison Park club are so convinced the deal will be completed they are closing in on former City defender Sylvain Distin as a replacement.
But City boss Hughes did bring in Sylvinho today, and said: “Sylvinho has a wealth of experience at the very top level, having represented Brazil and played for some of the very top clubs in Europe.
“When the chance presented itself to bring him to Manchester City as a free agent I saw it as representing excellent business for us."
Former Arsenal star Sylvinho, 35, was released by Barca in the summer and he will provide cover at left back for Wayne Bridge.

Should keep Robinho happy having a fellow brazilian behind him - their link up could be brilliant on the few occasions they both play together.
Sort of ends the Lescott's gonna play left back theory, even though that might still be an option for the odd game away at stoke or something...
