Ancelotti: Terry going nowhere

CHELSEA boss Carlo Ancelotti insists John Terry will not move to City and will stay at Stamford Bridge for the rest of his career.

Although the Blues have rebuffed City’s initial offer, reports have claimed they could be tempted to sell Terry if the fee was high enough.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday morning Ancelotti said: “John Terry is a symbol of this team.

“He will be captain next season: he said he wants to stay forever and we want to keep him for ever.

“Now there is a question of Man City, but for Terry (there is) no price.

“Terry will be at Chelsea forever.

“He said he wants to stay, there is no problem for him for us, the story continues - Chelsea and Terry.

“I like to have a captain like Terry, he is very close to (Paulo) Maldini for professionalism, for quality and he will be the best captain for Chelsea.

“I spoke with Terry a month ago when I came to the club and he said welcome. And after he went on holiday.

“I will speak with him because he is the captain and I want a good relationship with the captain.”

When asked if the club would offer Terry a new, improved contract, he added: “It’s not my problem.”

Out of all the players we've bid for this was the least likely to succeed. And I include kaka in that. Never thought he'd come now but it puts the seed of doubt into chelsea's heads so that a bid in the future might pay off.

We only need one defender anyway - concentrate on getting lescott or luisao now. No worries.

Oh, and the first idiot who blames this on the manager's apparent inability to attract players like terry gets a prize...

They get the pleasure of me calling them an idiot!

Could be a PR exercise by Chelsea to demonise Terry. Until JT publicly states, on TV, that he's staying at Stamford Bridge, I think the deal could still be on.

That sounds very negative and Terry will stay at Chelsea........I cannot see any reason for not testing the water of any club in the world. Now City are in a very strong position to buy whoever, what harm can it do to set your sights on the worlds best! keep it up MH & GC

Never heard those words from John Terry.Until he comes out and says I wont be going anywhere then this is obviously what Ancelotti would be saying in his first press conference.Money talks I'm afraid and JT holds all the aces,if he wants to move then it will happen,if not then we move on.

Dont know about anyone else but its hilarious how Chelsea and others are feeling threatened by little old city!!

This is in my view no more than a ploy by Chelsea to destabilise City's focus in the transfer market. JT will not leave Chelsea in a million years, they are toy-ing with us...focus our time and efforts on more realistic targets, Lescott and Upson would provide us with excellent strength in deptth accross the back four, and they are both proven performers in the prem - get them both in and forget about JT and Chelsea's games...

if you were asked to name the best player in att, mid and def you would probably say eto'o, kaka and terry.... just so happens that we have bid for all 3. and i wouldnt be surprised if it eventually came out that we bid for buffon in january.

4 players all the best in their position (in some peoples opinion) and we try to buy them all.... good times to be a city fan

So, Ancelotti spoke to Terry a month ago & he's not bothered to ring him before the press conference.

He's hardly likely to say, 'Give us £40 mil & he's yours' is he?!!

Lovin all this, cos little old City are really rattlin the cages!!Don't actually think it will happen, but it's just great to stick it to em!
