As the players knuckle down to pre-season training on Saturday, the hardy group of Blues employees will be attempting to climb the three highest peaks in Britain, to raise money for the New Children's Hospital.
Manager Mark Hughes and chief executive Garry Cook were originally going to join the gruelling challenge, which involves scaling Scotland's highest mountain Ben Nevis, England's Scafell Pike and Wales's Snowdon.
But Cook is now busy overseeing City's summer transfer activity and Hughes will be with his players when they report back to the Carrington training ground tomorrow.
Maintenance engineer Bill Poole, at 56 the oldest of the intrepid group said: "We believe the temperatures are going to drop for the weekend - let's hope so!
"Sixteen of us will be trying to do all three peaks in of 24 hours, and the others will do it over three days - Garry will join us for that final leg as well."
