GIVEN: not the hardest of afternoons in terms of shots to stop but as competent as usual
7
RICHARDS: charity wristband might be a charm because he was effective at both ends of pitch
8
DUNNE: Davies and Elmander not the easiest to contain but was nearly foot perfect in heat
8
ONUOHA: same comment applies as does to skipper. Quick, strong and decisive in all he did
9
BRIDGE: no one to mark most of the time and prominent in attack in the second half
7
DE JONG: scurried and hurried about the place and for most part kept things simple and effective 7
IRELAND: received player of the season award before game and had hand in winning goal
7
CAICEDO: had one of his better afternoons scoring and showing quick feet in tight situations
8
WRIGHT-PHILLIPS: off the operating table to play and showed that his pace unhinges defences 7
KOMPANY: took aerial battle to Wanderers but fell foul of the referee on too many occasions 7
ROBINHO: quick thinking at free kick led to goal for Caicedo and rattled the post with shot
8
SUBSTITUTES:
WEISS (for Ireland 71) – debut for youngster who showed some of his tricks
ZABALETA (for Kompany 82) – too late to mark
BERTI (for Bridge 86) – too late to mark but nice to see
NOT USED: Hart, Benjani, Bojinov, and Petrov
BATTLE OF THE BOSSES: HUGHES – got everything right including his decisions to give Weiss a debut and Berti five minutes on the pitch; MEGSON – plenty of muscle at his disposal and he deployed and motivated it well enough to make sure it was a contest
REFEREE: Mark Clattenberg (County Durham) – back after a ban and refereed with great common sense - 7

Cool to see both Berti and Weiss given a brief show today, good luck Berti in your next role.
In the BBC ratings Berti was man of the match. So where were you Chris Bailey?
Rob should have been given 9 as his class lit up an otherwise dull game where at times our passing was pedestrian. It was great to see Berti and the super reception he received was typical of City - he will forever be a legend and he cost us nothing.
glad to see Berti got some game time: something to tell his grandchildren in years to come!
WE LOVE THE PIDGEON!!!
berti was nice to see, but looked averidge at best,,
though weiss looked pritty good,,,
hope we can use him more next year
MOM, Berti! Get in there son!
Onuoha - 10
Berti - 12
Pigeinho - 14
Roll on next season...
BERTI WAS MOTM ,weiss looked good and definitely one for net season.
How can you not mark Berti with a 10?
He never put a foot wrong in the whole time he was on the pitch!!
Ray of '68
robinho clearly worth 9, but then berti was a definite 10. legendary moment, when he came on. almost as good as when colin bell finally ran out again after that long injury...
Berti the savior saved us from Relegation on the final day of the season....legend!
You may say I am mad but we would have gone down because there is a clause in his contract that says if he doesn't get a game we will be deducted 30 points for player cruelty...... it was an emotional nail biting 81 minutes until he finally saw action and rescued us from the drop.....
Berti our Hero!
Berti, you are a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Robinho was just absolute class today - No competition for man of the match becuase it was him by a mile!
I thought Berti had his worst game of the season.
I think the sun has gone to your head Chris! Assuming Maldini in his pomp is a ten, are you saying Nedum was a fraction from this? Crazy generosity! Having said this, it must be the worst part of your job. Have a great summer to all at MEN.

OK Edski. Your posts are usually not worth reading, however, this one was class.
CTID.
No mention of our new wing back then...........
Super City Pigeon had a steady debut on the wing and grew in confidance with the backing of the City crowd.
Unflustered at the attention he pecked his way towards the near post but "Feed the Bird and he will score" chants by the crowd fell on deaf ears with no bird brained attempts on goal to bring him into play.
No flying tackles marked his debut but it was also defined by a game with no fowl play by either team.
Super Pigeon has a Danny Tiatto style approach to a match with feathers flying at any oppertunity.
MUEN what game were you watching ?
More realistic marks please next season Chris. Given badly at fault start of 2nd half-didn't come for a cross and they should have scored. Bridge-OK 2nd half to be fair but awful 1st half. 7 for De Jong!!! Rob MOTM
Albatross, Bury
Get off of Berti's back. I would put money on it that you haven't seen him play better than he did yesterday. Knockers like you are going to force the lad out of the Club. If he goes you should be ashamed of yourself. He hasn't put a foot wrong ALL season.
Glad to see common sense has finally prevailed and Berti has been given time on the pitch. 6 mins on and voted man of the match. How good is that???
without a doubt, berti's best game.
can someone PLEASE explain the pigeon thing for me?...... I couldn't go to the game and have no idea what the hell people are on about!!!!

Ambi, I think Albatross was saying that tongue in cheek!
Iceman Cometh
and i wasn't? Didn't you get the clue in the "forcing Berti out of the club" remark or did you think Berti would be here next season?
Wasn't that obvous Ambient, get it now, just.
