Key trio in doubt for PSG

DOUBT: Micah Richards in action during the derby

CITY manager Mark Hughes could be without a number of key players for Wednesday's UEFA Cup match against Paris St Germain at Eastlands.

Robinho (ankle), Shaun Wright Phillips (knee) and Micah Richards (ankle) are all doubtful through injury following the defeat by United.

Gelson Fernandes is sidelined with a hamstring problem as City look to record their third successive win in the group.

Leave them out if they aren't fit. Robinho showed on Sunday that he isn't fit.

We certainly need to rest a few anyway. There’s absolutely no point playing Robinho again if he’s not 100% fit, and we can win comfortably without him as evidenced against Schalke. And as we’ve pretty much secured qualification already, the priority has got to be on having a fully fit squad to hopefully get three points at Fulham at the weekend. As they seem to be carrying assorted knocks about, Richards, Garrido and SWP are best kept in reserve for Sunday, along with Robinho.

Against PSG, I’d like to see us play a 4-4-2 with Kompany and Ireland running the midfield engine room. Sturridge has shown signs of being a real threat down the left in recent games, and with Elano providing the spark on the other wing, we should be able to provide enough ammunition for the two strikers and for Ireland’s runs into the box.

Have you seen Weiss play recently? Or at all?

Hasn't played more than a handful of games for even the reserves this season, yet you think he's ready for the first team?

Oh, and he's NOT a left winger. A mere detail I know, but he plays right wing. Always has.

The team and tactics for Fulham should be the same as Schalke - rest Robinho on the bench.

Win this one and you are guaranteed 1st place. It will give you a good position for the draw in the next round, and will do no harm for the confidence. So put out the best 11 possible. If you are already top of then group you can decide to rest players.

kasper,Zabaleta,mcdonald,onhua,ball,sturridgekompany,marshall,mcdermot,jo,vassel. mcdonald because hes a monster 6ft7,marshall top scorer for the reserves and recently scored against schalke res,mcdermot once voted best young player in ireland.these young players deserve a chance because they are doing it for the reserves and i for one can not watch haman walking around a football pitch bringing nothing to the game these pundits say he brings a calming influence b-llocks run your nuts off and earn your corn.theres to many clingers at city and its about time somebody said it for what it is we have some of the best youngsters in europe play them and give them a chance if they dont deliver try the next ones and so on.as for weiss he as been shocking for the reserves.man football seems a bit hard for him at the moment

Seen him play both live and on telly and I think it is time that we need to blood some of the youngsters who we think may make it in the future.

I also know that he is a right winger, but I have seen him play left wing for the juniors on many occasions where he can cut in and shoot (or cross) with his right foot, hence the reason I have gone for a 4 4 2 formation so as to get people in the box.

I've also had a slight re-think and would put Elano in for Ireland (who looked jaded on Saturday)

Maybe it's you who hasn't seen much of him live Mr Soulboy??

buzz33, well said. everybody it's on channel Eastlands. Get out and see the game LIVE.
How about special cup loyalty points so that if you have seen every home cup game live you have priority over others for later rounds, even season ticket holders if they haven't been bothered to watch. This should also extend to the FA cup.

Robinho and Richards should be given time to overcome their injuries while SWP DESERVES a rest along with Ireland. I'd like to see some of our younger guys given a chance - hopefully Nedum will get a chance. I think Schmeichal should also be given a run out. As for forwards why anyone wants Vassell to play I cannot understand. Jo must be played from the start as well as Elano.
