Manchester City

Blues and Reds match clash

Eastlands
A RARE night of football will take place in Manchester next month - with both City and United at home on the same night.

United’s Carling Cup quarter-final tie against Blackburn has been put back 24 hours to Wednesday, December 3 - with City taking on Paris St Germain in the UEFA Cup on the same night.

United and Blackburn were due to play the previous night - but both teams were keen to postpone for 24 hours, even though local police prefer both their major clubs not to play at the same time.

United tackle City at Eastlands on November 30, with Blackburn facing the more geographically challenging trip to Portsmouth on the same day.

However, with United due to play a Champions League tie against Aalborg the following week before flying to Japan for the World Club Cup, there was little opportunity for the Carling Cup tie to be played at a later date as the semi-finals should take place at the beginning on January.

However, following discussions with Greater Manchester Police, the Football League have confirmed the Carling Cup clash at Old Trafford will now take place on December 3.

Piffle - I'm at a conference in Alsager that day and already had to leave early to pick me daughter up. Now the M6 will be chocker with cockneeeeeee RAGS. Might as well bin the conference.

Come on blues big turnout against PSG, we can confirm our place in the last 32. Don't want more RAGS at a carling game do we.

Absolute madness and recipe for trouble, and so close to the Derby when the result will be very fresh(or raw) for one of us. Can you imagine us all happily mixing at the Christmas Market after being on the Ghluwein all afternoon?

I thought that there was supposed to be a serious congestion problem here? Fancy having £120,000 people heading in at rush hour. Or is the game before the congestion charge vote?

I'll dust off my Hummer and will drive that in. That will learn them.

If anyone starts talking about trouble, you are just going to invite the issue.

Not interesteed in utd whatsoever.

Concentrate on the blues.

Its a massive 3 weeks for us and we need all the points we can get.

Stay out of trouble, and vent your spleen by signing the boys on, lets all scream at the ref on Saturday, we need a better atmos and need some decisions.

Scousers, Stoke, Spurs all made more noise than us.

The other consideration is a Peterbilt 379 like Chris Eubank has.

That's how it makes you feel doesn't it? They ban foxhunting yet now more people go hunting.

I took up shooting myself (not literally) and so many people are aghast that I could shoot say a grouse. They will eat the stuff though but are detached from reality.

I wouldn't wish downtown LA's traffic on Mancheste but it is a village here but these types that always have a cause - ban foxhuntying, ban smoking, ban raves, ban. ban, ban seem to be taking a hold here playing their guilt cards. All I will do is go further. You want to ban my 4x4, I'll by a truck. I'd b etempted to but a London Routemaster and rive it around twon all day causing mayhem just for the fun of it.

You shouldn't be told how to run your lives, listen to me and you'll see.

Giles I will forgive you for using the Hummer I had a neighbour with one but thankfully, the yanks rescued us and he is now on another Galaxy.

Rawtenstall Blue - Well said but make sure your daughter comes first and foremost andf take it easy up the M6 this fixture change is another foul up and more than likely my other neighbour SAF is the instigator for the change. Anyway, fellow citizens lets stick together as the Derby is due and we need to stuff the rags and their followers again. It won't be easy but hey we have Robinho!!!!!!!!

Isn't it around this time of year when Blackley Red accuses us of singing Munich songs?
Stuff the attendance figures. If City win in Germany, the Paris game will be a dead rubber.United will fiddle the attendance figures, like they do for all League Cup games.
And they call us liars!

Never mind the reds-give us back our tanker you pirates! My mates in the SBS and he is a Blue so be careful, one call from the Saudi prince and you Somalians will be swimming with the fishes!

Thankfully our new owners haven't yet taken to demanding credit card numbers from our season ticket holders in order to fill the ground for cup games.

I hope you've all got deep pockets because thats just the tip of the iceberg. That debts not going to service itself you know.

Your average PSG fan will have less travelling to do that night than your average rag....

Giles... what's happened to youmate?

I was always a fan of your idiosyncratic views but recently you seem to have lost the plot.

The "third person" diatribe you indulged in recently merely gave truth to the fact that you've become a parody of yourself and that you're now trying WAY too hard!

But tonight, i fear you may have lost your magic touch with your language.

I'll go with the Hummer, and the £2m house, and the gaggle of bimbos partying around you, but when you come out with the phrase... and I quote...

"I'll dust off my Hummer and will drive that in. That will learn them"... then I fear the worst for your sanity.

"Learn them"? Even from my humble beginnings in Cheetham Hill I never spoke such ill-educated tosh!

Shame on you!

As my head at St. Mark's primary would have said... must try harder!

Hey, if your mate says he is in the SBS, then he isn't! Do you know how many ships this supertanker will be joining of Somalia, waiting for your mate to turn up? Let alone the crews on all those ships!

Anyway, to this weekend. I saw the Arse-nal - Villa match the other day. Considering Villa had been loosing a few games as well, lately, they played the Arse off the park. City to do the same!

So United can have their game changed to our night but when we are playing Stoke on a Saturday afternoon and United are away in Liverpool, we have to be moved to a Sunday. Typical bias towards the top four! Let's hope Blackburn stuff them!

Only £120,000 people clogging up the roads, Giles. That would be OT then and the prawn sandwich brigade. Pretty poor salaries by your high standards. I'd just drive straight over them in your hummer!

i normally catch the 53 to Trafford bar and walk down to Chorlton...maybe not this night..

i think the last time this happened was the 1996/97 end of the season, when we played Pompey and the other lot played..who cares.
we met some pompey fans in the bee-hive before the game and chatted with them, they had come up to Maine Road for the adventure, never been before and wanted to see the place.
one made the fatal mistake of asking if the other game would of an effect on our attendance, his mates turned a funny shade of green ;-)
no...we don't mix. not these days , and he appologised, no problems.
and we shown them all total respect for doing the 600 mile round road-trip for a meaningless wednesday night game.

and as a fellow blue stated. more PSG fans will be at CoMS than Mancs at OT.

bienvenue mes amis, hope the Parisian madamoselles are up here in force.
