Caicedo 4? Are you kidding? Is this guy a footballer at all? A score of 1 or 0 would be more appropriate. Elano should have licence to wander - if he'd had better strikers to take his passes we'd have done better. We looked better when Elano came inside. Johnson - 5. Yep. He needs to work much harder.

Sturridge had one good shot but other than that was never a seven. He cant do what all forwards should do and thats hold the ball up!

Once again Dunne supporters will have to accept that this man is by no measure perfect at the back. Another costly error and Im still baffled as to why he is so important to keep. He struggled all night against FCMs attackers. That being said no player deserved a good rating after this game. Never have I seen such lack of passion and it seemed every player was giving up. What and who is Filipe Caicedo? Honestly this man continues baffles me. We pay £5 mill for him, Sven talks him up but yet I have never seen anyone be so anonymous as him. Mystery signing. Did you go to the same game as me? Richards the best of the defenders...... give me a break. He was the worst and totally ignored Corluka who was unmarked for most of the first half and Richards never passed the ball to him. It was as if Corluka was invisible in the eyes of the most selfish player on the pitch, Richards. The trouble with Richards is that he is a legend in his own mind, when in reality he is a nightmare!

Dunne was the best player then Fernandes with Corluka, Elano and Petrov around at all times to assist.

They had all better play twice as well in the away leg though because that wasn't good enough. Time to wake up City and realise that this is serious.

So we are in Europe and the players are in Lala land the over paid lazy lot. When pray tell me do they start earning those massive salaries they all think they deserve. don't agree with the rating I would have given our back four 4 each except micah who was the best player by a mile (7). Dunne wash shocking and charlie didn't look interested.

Petrov was are best player going forward but even he was shocking 6.
TBH is defo not a left back and petrov suffered because he had nobody to do his give and go with
I thought Johno showed patches of what he can do but not really enough for guy who thinks he should be playing Champs league and get £30 grand a week.

Fernandes was better in the second half but lacks the quality pass.

Elano was absent for most of the first half (on right wing) when he came inside in second half he looked better and started to control the game a bit, but was then subed ?
Caseido isn't the answer his touch at times was woefull.

Sturidge is going to be a very good striker I just feel he needs more time to develope the physical side of his game (will be on bench for most of the season as backup)

were are the team that played against milan and the team who kept the ball so well against celtic (pass and move).

I was mostly dissapointed in the lack of effort and desire especially in the first half (they wanted it more than we did). Same old city 1 step forward 3 steps back.

If we play like that against Villa with there pace + power up front we are in for another borough score line.

MH needs to give them all a good kick up the pants and sign at least 3 players

We were rubbish, no we we worse than that. Lets give some credit to the opposition though they were better than a lot of us thought but we were warned. Dunney, well he was to blame for their goal and should hang his head in shame. Michah was superb and is showing how good a player he is. I think we are lacking in midfield,no creativity, Johnson and Gelson centre midfield, neither is great at passing the ball and elano has the ability but I dont think he has the heart. Still needed to challenge for anything is a left back, centre midfield right midfield and a proven goalscorer.

Dunne looking clumbsy and not good in build-up play. He may face stiff competition from Richards/Tel Ben Haim for centreback position.

Elano on the right will take any confidence left in him away. Play him on his position or do not play him at all.

Caicedo not ready to play in a team that struggles; didn't get many feeding as well. But to be honest, he hasn't show any talent yet.

Sturridge wouldn't surprise me as being a regular starter this season. The only positive to take out of this game, unfortunately.

Why didn't Hughes start with Garrido at leftback, Ireland on the right (or Etuhu to start), and Evans as our centreforeward?

Keep the faith that we might be able to field a better team ie more inform players next term. Pity if we should not reach groupstages, as that''s where it gets exciting ...

Richard Dunne strikes again.....DONKEY!!

A bit harsh some of those numbers.

I don't know what you guys thought but poor though the performance was, it was still not *that* bad. Much much better than the rubbish I saw agains the Faroes away and also Hamburg.

Dunne let us down by his generally poor play and crass mistake in the opening 20 minutes. After that we were chasing the game and I am not surprised they had more chances with us pushing forward.

On a positive note, I thought Petrov was again excellent and we saw glimses of the old Elano. Sturridge will be great in months to come and was very unlucky not to score. TBH didn't have one of his better games, but still looks like he was a really good buy. Fernandez also played very well I think.

On the downside, Caceido really has no place in a premiership side. We should just give up with him. Either sell him or loan him to Tranmere or wherever. I would certainly have played Evans instead who looked really threatening in the Milan game.

But its clearly going to be hard work until we get Jo and Benji back.

I honestly don't know where these scores have come from. City were rubbish. I am seriously worried that Sven's signings won't chime with the Hughes regime. If we are going to keep lumping the ball forward there is no point having Elano and Petrov in the team. Hughes needs to cool it and concentrate on playing good football, like he did with his time at Wales, rather than trying to turn us into the new Bolton.

Micheal Johnson was a disgrace from start to finish. Why was Elano taken off when Johnson was just swanning around like a big time charlie.

DAM!! DUNNE was definetely a 4. Micah 7 damn he was good. we should buy a left defender and kick dunnie to the bench with Tal as a replacement. as for the midfield.................. get rid of em all.

Oh, and it's not taken long for the centre-forward by nature Etuhu to learn how to cross. He could make it on the right-wing as far as I'm concerned. I'd certainly start with him there rather than Elano.

Can't believe that Dunne and Ben Haim managed to get 5. They were both woeful, does Dunne know that his team mates were wearing blue??? As for Haim he and Petrov must not be on good terms as he seemed to search for the more difficult pass all night rather than feed Petrov. On the evidence of this we will struggle big time against the Villains on Sun. But we desperately need a quality striker and I thought the game was crying out for Stephen Ireland, someone to see a killer pass and open up the defence. School report: Must do better!!!!!
