But the claims had a hollow ring to them with the Premier League poised to revisit their ‘fit and proper person’ test if and when the former Thai Prime Minister is convicted.
In the meantime, Blues fans are left to feed on rumour and counter- rumour about the future of their beloved club.
It is a scandalous state of affairs that needs rectifying as soon as possible.
Last week the MEN urged someone to get a grip and lead Manchester City positively and with openness – and those words have become more and more relevant with every minute that has since past.
There is an unwelcome stench of uncertainty surrounding the football club and the supporters are people of Manchester are more concerned with what happens to the Blues than the personal future of the Shinawatras.
It is now highly unlikely that the Blues owner will ever see the £800m he has frozen in his homeland and claims that he still has a fortune at his fingertips do not ring true when set against the evidence of the attempted sale of players, a wage freeze, emergency loans from a former owner and a lack of trading in the transfer market.
City fans deserve better than what is becoming a daily farce and not many of them would now be sad to see their club change hands again.

Shameful. All because no one from the club will slip you stories anymore. Start behaving with some respect towards the club and they might let you back in.

the sooner we get rid of this clown the better !
obviously we are becoming the caberet again for another season. if i wanted to see comedians, i would go and watch professionals not the pathetic ones that we have who are running our club. is'nt it about time somebody actually came out and said what is going on ?
how the hell is Mark Hughes meant to do his job when his hands are being tied behind his back !
sort it out city and QUICK !!

I think maybe this reporter was trying to say that we wouldn't want the drawn out takeover like we got last year. Where it totally messed up our plans of purchasing players because there was no time.
we don't want that happening again, but we don't want to have no money either!!!
I would love to be able to see in hughes' mind right now to see what he was thinking!!!

I'd like to know a little more about this "pay freeze"! If this is the case and Johnston has rejected his contract does this mean he will not be getting an improved offer??
It's all going a bit pear shaped but will stand by my beloved club. The most important thing right now is to hold on to Hughes!

Hopefully Shinawatra will get a good offer for the club and sell to someone who is willing to back the best manager we have had in thirty years. At least with Hughes there he has so far blocked the sale of our best players from the club. Hughes is more important to us now than Thaksin or Cook and it is time that the fans got behind him and his team.
Thanks Wardle and McKintosh for selling us to the Thai, you certainly did a great deal for the future of the club !

The song is perfect "Blue moon, you saw me standin' alone" (because the stadium is half empty).
"Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own" (thats because only a dream/miracle will see you win anything or survive in top flight football).
"Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for" (to be ripped of for your loyalty to losers who dont care half as much as you do? Eg any of the players and your mate Hatton).
"You heard me sayin' a prayer for
Someone I really could care for" (you City fans better be praying, you're in a world of trouble now).
Such a relevant song!

The sooner this interfering, bungling regime in the boardroom is replaced the better.

Wardle knew this was a risk when he sold the club to him. As usual we are the laughing stock of English football!

Time to act fellow citi fans. Let's show thaksin who the club REALLY belongs to. I suggest we boycott the first home game. Painful? Yes, but it will pay of quick and might even save the club from going under.

ah the predicability of a rag, i like the bit where you mention how we are getting ripped off, when you lot HAVE to buy cup tickets with your season ticket (just to watch a youth 11 get leathered 3-0 by coventry, must be worth every penny, assuming you've got one! I'd have thought an arm chair is cheaper) not to mention the £45 you charge your 'fans' for a replica shirt. mug

The fans don't want them and at the end of the day it should be them who are given the maximum consideration.
