Blues boys on target

CITY youngsters Ben Mee and Danny Sturridge scored second-half goals but couldn't prevent England crashing out of the European Under-19s Championships.

The young Lions beat Greece 3-0 but Italy's victory over the Czech Republic denied them a semi-final spot.

Bolton's Tope Obadeyi was an unused substitute.

However, England's Learning Disability side dominated their opening game of the INAS-FID European Championship with a 10-0 demolition of France at Sportcity yesterday. Skipper Ronnie Watson scored a hat-trick.

2nd game for england and hes scored i think mee cant be any worse than wot we4ve got at left back and i think he could cope with the premier leasgue as hes big and strong i think players wouuldnt like to come up against him hope he gets huis chance along with weiss sturridge and evans but also id like to see ball in the team the young one

The whole 11 were dreadful in the fdirst game including sturridge. mee didnt play.

Good to see the young lads representing our club doing so well in the national side, proof again of what a fantastic job Jim Cassel and the staff at the academy are doing. Interesting to read the report on the rags reserve game, talking it up about their young Brazilians and Italians, what`s going on at the swamp`s academy?

England just dont cut it at any age in the european championships its mostly the foreigners in the league that does the trick.To bad england got some talent in the blues and around but they are overpriced like hell.Well at least you can watch it on tv and hope it will change..

Well done to both lads. It's just a shame that they were unable to progress any further in the comp.
