Early goals from Steven Ireland and Benjani looked to have set the Blues on their way to victory, but a second-half collapse dented hopes of European qualification.
Diomansy Kamara struck either side of Danny Murphy's effort to stun the City faithful and the watching Thaksin Shinawatra.

The Cottagers began with a sense of purpose and drive but their confidence visibly ebbed away once Ireland had smoothly deposited his wonder strike into the top corner.
There had appeared little immediate danger when Martin Petrov slipped a pass to the young midfielder but Fulham failed to close Ireland down, offering the opportunity to curl a shot goalwards.
Still, Fulham could have hardly expected it to end up being so precise, leaving Kasey Keller no chance of keeping it out.
If that came out of the blue, Benjani’s clinical finish to Darius Vassell’s cutback was fairly predictable, leaving Hodgson to slump in his seat and Thaksin to enjoy his first half of football at Eastlands since the visit of Tottenham six weeks ago.
Plan
In his extensive interview with the match programme, Thaksin spoke of a three-year plan that will take City into Europe by the end of next season and the Champions League 12 months later, and Eriksson had harboured hope of delivering part one of the challenge early.
That fading possibility would presumably meet with Thaksin’s approval since it appears the owner is not intent on a major summer spending spree.
Even after City’s early double, Keller continued to be the busier of the two goalkeepers, although opposite number Hart was the more acrobatic.
Hart had already denied David Healy with a superb reaction save just just before the break when he palmed away Jimmy Bullard’s free-kick midway through the second half.
At that point, Fulham looked spent. Yet, from virtually nothing, there were given a new lease of life when Murphy’s long ball found Kamara.
The former West Brom man somehow turned past Vedran Corluka before firing through Hart’s legs.
With the stakes suddenly raised considerably, Hart was required again to keep out a goalbound Bullard free-kick as Fulham strained for the equaliser.
And Fulham were handed the opportunity they craved when Sun Jihai dragged down substitute Eric Nevland 12 minutes from time. Murphy strode up and though Hart saved the former Liverpool man’s first effort, he was helpless to prevent him tapping home the rebound.
The scene was set and the finish was perfect for the visitors as Kamara burst through in the final minute and beat Hart at his near post to give Fulham a priceless win.

Sun should NEVER play for City again. Another penalty given away and another three point lost. O.K., the one at Brum was a bad joke but this man is not only useless but a jinx.

What was that? I am sat in the Legends bar tapping this on my Blackberry such is my anger.
How do you let a two goal lead slip AT HOME? Spineless. We could have been in seventh if we'd won.
Someone said to me 'well we were playing a team fighting for relegation'. So what? All that means is they wanted it more. We should be fighting hard in every game, we should be fighting hard for seventh spot.
An absolute disgrace and a sour note to finish on for those fans who only go to home games.
Thankfully I'm back to LA next week.
Once again, we deserve more than this gutless surrender.

Im more mad at Fernandez for needlessly giving the ball away in midfield which led to the second goal. But oh well, typical City!

I said when Kamara scored that Fulham would win! Yep the easiest scoreline I have ever predicted in history.
In fact I knew from early on it wasn't going to be my day. I bet £10 for Ireland to score but my bet went unmatched on Betfair so I cancelled and bet for us to WIN! (£40 lost). I bet Bury 2-3 Rochdale - I should have bet City 2-3 Fulham and got almost £400...
Sun Jihai - one own goal and two penalties given away in the last three games I have watched him in! Surely winning games is now more important than shirt sales in China, letting this embarrassing little man make mistake after mistake
In fact if it wasn't for Hart we would have lost 12-2.
Team Ratings
Hart 7
Corluka 4
Ball 3
Jihai 2
Elano 5
Fernandez 4
Ireland 4
Petrov 6
Vassell 4
Benjani 3
Geovanni 2
Caciedo 2
Summary: Like we did against Portsmouth we went 2-0 ahead early on through a fortunate deflection for the opener and then sat on a 2-0 lead, consistently offside- benjani! Also Vassell was dismal in that when he got the ball he dallied on it for so long that the opportunity disappeared!
At 2-0 ahead the players gave up..... from having a chance of finishing 6th in the league we will be lucky to finish 9th now - a team of players who don't want to venture outside their comfort zone.
Dr Thaksin was on the touchline at the end..... This is not acceptable Sven, absolutely appalling! You are a disgrace and better improve next season..... Fulham humiliated us,. they had all the chances but left themselves open - any other side would have had 6-0, 7-0 except City! Laughable! I wish I could laugh but too angry..... This will live long in the memory Sven! Very long indeed.
Shame on you.

So much for the last home game of the season. Can't see how we can improve on 8th or 9th now.
Let the clearout begin...

The last home game of the season 2-0 up and the opposition not in it ... a perfect opportunity for an attacking goal fest but no not City.
I have NEVER criticised Sven before but you gotta ask HUGE questions about his tactics for that game.
I've watced City for nearly 40 years and that has to be one of the BIGGEST giveaways ever????????????????????????
