Inter target Elano

ELANO has emerged as a transfer target for Italian giants Inter Milan.

According to reports Serie A leaders Inter are ready to table a name-your-price bid for the Brazilian sensation during the January transfer window.

Elano has been an unbridled success since joining Manchester City in an £8m deal from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer.

Sven-Goran Eriksson is unlikely to entertain any offer from his former protégé Roberto Mancini – but the Italians are said to be determined to land their man either next month or at the end of the season.

A source said: “Inter are in no mood to take no for an answer.

“They will ask City to name their price.

"They want a big-name signing to replace Luis Figo who retires at the end of the season and see Elano as a major addition.”

I know Elano likes Manchester. But I bet he's thinking to himself he'd like Milan better. Italian's easier to learn than English, the food's more to his taste, and his missus would love the shopping. Plus he wouldn't have to face three games in a week with the kind of bruising attention he's getting right now. I don't know how you say "oh, bl**dy hell, what have I got myself into?" in Brazilian, but his face when he got up after having his heel clipped from behind by a Villa marker seemed to say it. I hope he stays though.

Its obvious that city will get offers for the best players. The days have gone where we had to sell to pay off debt. Its inevevitable that every city player will eventually leave, but it will now on citys terms, if and when they go. Sven will bring in and ship out players to get city back to the glory days. Not all sales will be popular with the fans, but in sven we must trust.!

Based on Elano's recent performances which have been below par and if Milan are ready to play 15+ million for him, they can have him. I think we have been took quick to crown Elano our club talisman. He was poor against spurs and villa and I for one would like to see Geovanni given a run in the side in place of Elano, just to weigh up all available options

I can't believe that some of you think he is overhyped.
Almost all our earlier goals came through him and are continuing to do so. Who was the one to pass it to Petrov on Saturday? Elano. He is vital for us if we are to push for Europe. Sven will not let him leave easily that is for sure!

Elano was poor against Spurs and Villa but he is just coming back from injury in the fastest league in the world. He is getting special attention which is freeing up space for others, ie Petrov and Johnson. He wont win us matches on his own and needs more support but selling him would be a backwards step, for sure (as Sven would say)

OK he's hardly sparkled in the last couple of games, but the guy is pure class. There are 2 reasons his form has dipped.

First he's not fully fit, but is starting because we don't have any quality cover with Johnson and Ireland out.

Second all the other teams have marked him out and are giving him special treatment. Reo-Coker fouled him relentlessly yesterday. Nothing nasty, just persistant and the ref didn't give him any protection.

It's up to City to take advantage of teams trying to crowd us in midfield and use the space this gives us out wide. Having Ireland back will help, but we really need an out and out wide player. Unless Sven gets a ridiculous offer and is about to sign the likes of Kaka or Fabregas we shouldn't be selling.

I feel that Senor Blumer has paid back Svengali's faith and has been the inspiration on the playing feild that has rallied the team. Okay, but looking at it through the cold light of day if Inter were prepared to pay in excess of 15 million, i would have to look at the options. Svengali is a very astute man and will do what he beleives is right for the overall benifit of the club. Just to evidence that teams cope without so called BEST players, look at TROFFORD Ince,Hughes,Beckham,Cole & Van Rum have all been sold at fantastic profits much to the angst of the Cockneys. To his credit Whiskey nose always seems to unearth new gems. So i call on all the posters on all the stories here to calm their nerves as in Svengali we Trust. P.S yes i to see it as being good news that our good DR now has freinds in Goverment in Thailand, it should expidite the release of his 1.8 billion that was being held by the Junta.

As 'Went to Wembley in '56, USA' says its's as much to do with Elano himself. I-M are big-time, and in the CL on a regular basis. Better weather, etc, etc. He's 26, at his peak, and been here just a few months. Life in Italy, the med just round the corner. He's bound to be tempted if they make a serious offer. Why wouldn't he be? I know I would if I was him, looking for the best for his family/best chance of success, before he goes back to Brazil ... That's the way it works, surely

Some people writing here are so stupid... one minute they say he is a legend, best player weve ever had etc - then now after two games where he hasnt been at his best (after an injury) come here to say "sell him". What is wrong with you? You sound like the rags...

He is arguably the best signing in the Prem this season, along with Santa Cruz, so we must not sell him no matter what Inter offer. If Inter are interested just shows how good he is, and we need more like him. Simple.

I know I not going to be popular but this is business, the whole pupose of Sven singing young players is that if they perform profits can be made as per Arsenal the only thing is he has not reached his sell buy date therefore I suspect we might keep him but if the fee is big enough and tempting enough we will sell and buy someone even better.
