ITALIAN striker Bernardo Corradi has pointed the finger firmly at Stuart Pearce's management style for City's woes last season.

The 31-year-old believes that negative tactics were at the root of the Blues struggles in the bottom half of the table.

A rejuvenated Corradi is sure that approach will change under new boss Sven-Goran Eriksson who, he reveals, has already brought the squad closer together with no `them' and `us' splits in the Blues 'league of nations' dressing room.

Striker Corradi was one of the imports from Europe to have the finger pointed at him by skipper Richard Dunne and departed midfielder Joey Barton but insists such talk is all forgotten and was in the heat of the moment.

"I have no problem with Richard Dunne," he declared. "Last season there was a lack of leadership in the dressing room - not from him - that meant when things went wrong everyone was `running' in different directions.

"To make us a force in the Premiership everyone has to run in the same direction and that is happening now. Players are able to go to Eriksson or the coaches if they have a problem or an opinion."

The new relaxed togetherness has shown itself already as the Blues have accumulated 11 goals in three matches admittedly against inferior opposition at home and in Sweden.

Corradi has bagged three of those and admits he is once again playing with a smile.

"It has been a good start to pre-season and we are enjoying it. There is more freedom and expression in our play."

It is easy to blame Pearce who has already left. I might form a more objective opinion when hes left out by Sven for whatever reason and than talk about Svens management. Not that I do want it to happen as its no good to City (and thats all I care about). But not a lot of players are to be trusted on their words unfortunately.

A good indicator theat SP totally had it wrong would be to see Corradi "come good". He's shown some good flashes but then again, another indicator of how rubbish he is would be for him to carry on not scoring in the Prem!!

Much as I liked SP's personality and perspective, it was clear to all fans he lost the dressing room last year. Whose fault it was, we'll probably never know but the split between domestic and foreign players was there for all to see. As for Corradi, I said many times on this forum that he will score goals if given the correct service but SP did not buy/loan/develop either the players or the style of play to give him that opportunity. I remember the goal he scored away to portsmouth. Cross from the right hand side (Behind the FB), great header - GOAL. More of the same this year would be welcomed.

Pearce was a bad manager but corradi is an absolute terrible player.Just because you have scored a couple of goals against rubbish teams dont make you a good player. I would still sell you on bennardo.

I dont see why people are shocked players are taking a swipe at Pearce. His tactics were shocking for most of last season so why should we defend him? Corradi may have jumped too soon especially as some fans are so aaginst him but its obvious his confidence is up again so lets hope he plays like this through the season.

A cheap shot Bernado, still it makes a difference from a skewed one. Concentrate on scoring goals pal and then you'll get respect, support and affection from the supporters.

Pearce is a decent, likeable guy but sadly he wasn't up to it. He had lost the plot and was limited tactically, but Corradi didn't always give his all, which is a more heinous crime in my books.

I can't believe some of the things I've read the last couple of weeks. Corradi seems suddenly the have zoomed upwards in popularity and his none performance is all SP's fault. I don't buy that. True, the formation/personell playing in certain formations did not help at all, but Corradi looked too slow and lumbering to be a good premiership striker. A few goals against poor oppositon seems to make a lot of you think he's the bees knees. Discuss.

OK, so he scores a few goals against below average teams and he gets the right to mouth off? I seem to remember his best game last season was against Preston. I have no doubt that Corradi will play better under Sven. But his signing was still a mistake. A 3 year contract of 20k per week for a slow, 30-something plodder, who has never scored many goals, was always a mistake. This was my opinion before Corradi signed and my opinion has still not changed based on a few pre-season friendlies. If Sven finds a replacement in the next few weeks Corradi will be off faster than you can say beautiful Italian girlfriend.

Corradi may well start up front this season the way things are going. I think Sven has under estimated how difficult it is to get world class players to sign for City. I would love Castillo but he is holding out for a bigger club. It is no surprise that 2 of our signings have been up and coming players rather than established world class players. Sven may need to lower his sights slightly.

Tell us all something we dont already know , most City fans could see Pearce had lost the plot 12 months ago ! Just because he has scored 3 goals against a load of pub teams he thinks he is hitting some sort of form . If Pearce was that bad last season why didnt you open yuor mouth then Mr Corradi ?

Corradi should be saving these words until halfway through the season when they may actually mean something.

Having a go at the previous manager is an easy thing to do when Corradi has had such a poor season and will only be justified if he bangs the goals in this season against prem opposition, making these remarks after scoring goals against Swedish pub teams mean nothing!

According to Channel 4 football Italia, City have offered Juventus £7 million for left back Giorgio Chiellini, and have finalised a deal with midfielder Manuele Blasi, also form Juventus. no confirmation of this on any sites that I can see, although football italia states that the deal for Blasi is "according to sky"

bernardo, is of course entitled to 'have a go', but would be better served to save it until a few weeks into the season .. people need to wake up and smell the leather, i suggest .. who-ever plays up front for city, is entitled to service .. that service over the past season, has, been virtualy non exsistent. we havent had wide players, we havent had skillfull or creative midfielders to provide the openings. i hope sge addresses city's obvious deficiencies. i also hope that sge acts to fill the distin void, with a LEFT sided central defender. why not sign stefanovic from pompey as squad/cover (not a distin replacement, but handy to have in squad) ... pip..pip ...
