Bernardo Corradi holds off Doncaster's Brian Stock

FOR those of you who didn't see the goals from City's 3-1 victory at Doncaster, here's a chance to see the first action from the Blues' new season.

Bernardo Corradi, Micah Richards and Emile Mpenza were all on target at the Keepmoat Stadium as Sven-Goran Eriksson's reign began with a win.

I hope Corradi really comes good. I think with a coach like Sven who understands the Italian game we might like what we see from him this season. Here's hoping.

It was a good goal, but lets not get carried away. Corradi is not going to do a Drogba and have a great second season after an indifferent first. We could see what was wrong with Drogba - he fell over too much and too easily. We can also see whats wrong with Corradi - he's not good enough for the premiership.

I think the jury is out on Corradi and his being good enough. He is supposed to be a striker that thrives (hopefully) on crossed balls from wingers. I seem to recall we had a bit of a lack of wingers under Stuart Pearce!!!!

i cant see coradi coming good im afraid. This is not the italian league, this is the english premiership. A much more aggresive and fast paced league all together.

He certainly looked better than Samaras when in a goal-scoring position.

wasnt a bad goal and last season he shown glimses of true class but he has to be consistently good atleast to be in our team whats meant to be going places not constistly inconsistently bad

Corradi played well he got in some good positions, but the problem lays at Samaras, oh my word, even warming up before the match he managed to hit 1 out of 10 on target. He seems as though he has lost his nerve!!!

I agree with Mark Austin, Corradii looked good but Samaras looked woeful, his confidence is shot to peices, lets hope Sven plays him in positon and we finally begin to see what we paid £6 million for.

Samaras scored his first under Sven tonight, so let's hope there's a little bit of confidence, a little help with his game and bringing Sam back to the promise he showed early on and pushing that forward.

I see Bernardo got another as well - so let's hope the same can be said there too!

Steve, Droylsden, Tameside - I agree Samaras didnt look that comfortable when it came to shooting but considering one of the effort deflected wide(i think)but his touch and runnin looked good. I say give him time. I still go back to when he joined, lots of running like that and he scored goals.Last season i think should be forgotten, it was woeful, lets forget and just move on.

Your right Steve from Droylesdon,this is the chance for Georgios Samaras to shine.I think that he has it in him,and have seen flashes of class,amidst dissapointing efforts.I think its about his confidence,at times last season his body language was that of a worried and defeated man.I reckon he will do it,and that we will be glad he stayed.In video clips he looked a different player,when he was in Holland.As for Corradi,he had little service last year,but his technique always seemed good.Plus he looks a bit like The Fonz,and that has to be good.Great goal v Doncaster.
