Goalkeepers
Andreas Isaksson - Took his time to settle because of an early knee injury, but secured the first-team jersey by the end of the season. He has all the tools to become a top stopper but needs to be more commanding from crosses - 7
Nicky Weaver - Confounded all expectations by holding down a first-team spot and staying fit. For the most part his form was solid, but he never inspired total confidence in the fans and defence, and it seemed only a matter of time before Isaksson took over - 7
Joe Hart - Kept a clean sheet on his only appearance for the Blues this season and has continued to build his experience with loan spells at Tranmere and Blackpool - 6
Kasper Schmeichel - The young Dane has had two successful loan spells at Bury and Falkirk and is making good progress - 7
Defence
Richard Dunne - The Blues' player of the season. Ever-present in the Premiership and if it wasn't for his form the club would almost certainly have been relegated - 9
Sylvain Distin - The Frenchman put in his usual Rolls Royce performance and along with Dunne provided the bedrock for City's survival. He has left now, but not without the good wishes of the majority of fans - 8
Micah Richards - The powerhouse youngster continued his upward curve and made 28 league appearances. He broke into the England team and made the transition easily - 8
Nedum Onuoha - It has been another season disrupted by injury for Onuoha, but he was in decent form when fit. He is strong and has pace to burn, but still doesn't look 100 per cent comfortable with the ball at his feet - 6
Michael Ball - Former boss Stuart Pearce took some heavy criticism for his transfer dealings but the capture of Ball was a shrewd move. He has slotted in seamlessly at left-back - 7
Midfield
Joey Barton - His future at the club in serious doubt, but if he does go the Blues will lose their most effective midfielder. He scored seven goals in all competitions and won his first England cap. Given that there is an ongoing investigation into the training ground incident with Ousmane Dabe, this mark is for his playing contribution only - 8
Ousmane Dabo - The Frenchman only showed glimpses of the form that made him a Serie A favourite with Lazio. He didn't fully adapt to the pace of the Premiership and despite a run in the team over Christmas and the new year he was a bit-part player - 5
Dietmar Hamann - City thought they had a bargain in Hamann when they snatched him from under the nose of Bolton but on this evidence his time at the top is up. He is assured in possession but he doesn't have the engine any more and injuries were a constant niggle - 5
Stephen Ireland - The most creative player on City's books but that's not necessarily saying much. He is still hampered by his small frame but has great early vision and would no doubt do more damage with a top class striker to work with. His progress with the Republic of Ireland is encouraging too - 7
Sun Jihai - Didn't get going until February but proved a useful utilitly man. He has boundless energy and that often makes up for his technical limitations -
6
Michael Johnson - After a debut in the 4-0 hammering at Wigan in October, it took five months for the youngster to get another chance. He took it with both hands though and looks to have a mature and rounded game. The Blues will be looking for him to kick on next season - 6
Hatem Trabelsi - Looked a classy player before Christmas and was one of City's main attacking threats down the right. However, he fell out of favour and his Blues career has petered out - 5
Ishmael Miller - The big winger has only been a bit-part player this season and could be on his way out. He has the pace but needs a defter touch if he is to succeed at the highest level - 5
Forwards
Bernardo Corradi - City knew Corradi wasn't a prolific scorer when they signed him but expected more than the three goals he produced. He was simply too slow to be effective and rarely got into scoring positions - 4
Georgios Samaras - It has been a frustrating season for the Greece international. He clearly has talent but barely has any confidence left. He did score seven goals in all competitions though - 5
Darius Vassell - A willing worker as ever but a return of five goals isn't good enough. Too often fans have had to watch him drive forwards before turning back at the crucial moment. He would be much more effective with a clinical finisher alongside him - 6
Emile Mpenza - A good capture by former boss Pearce. His goals against Middlesbrough and Newcastle went a long way to securing safety and although he's not up to speed yet, he looks like a natural scorer - 7
Paul Dickov - Many fans wer sceptical when he signed and they were right. A blank is any striker's nightmare and although he added spirit on occasions the Blues needed more than that - 3

Ireland higher than Johnson, don't make me laugh!!!
Can somebody please inform
City fans what is going on at the moment. Everybody seems to want out, and there's no new news on the takeover saga. Somebody from the club should make a statement regarding the clubs position.
How did Corradi make 4
THE WHOLE TEAM NEED REPLACING AS THEY ARE ALL RUBBISH!
I think -9 for Dunney is a bit harsh..
MCFC No Surrender !
Cookie is correct. Johnson 7 and Ireland 6 surely.
I really like Vassell, but it's true about him turning back at crucial build up moments. I suppose a lot of that comes with not playing up front with a good striker who he has the confidence in to set up and convert. But Vassell himself also needs to start stamping his authority, it's all fair and well outstripping 3 opposing players and not going hell for leather trying to get that goal in. He's one of the players you really want to do well, and I really hope he does.
Agree with most of the ratings, but perhaps some of the 4s & 5s needed to be 2s & 3s. A rating of 5 suggests average.
Johnson deserved a 7.
Slow news day !
I know Bobbit is past his sell by date, but how can he get a 3 when Corroded gets a 4??????
Harsh rating for Dickov who has hardly played all season through injury or the plate smasher and corroded (who couldn't find each other in a game of hide and seek)being picked before him. At least Dicky gives 110% and loves the club. Only Dunne's and Barton's performances (on the pitch)come close. Given the chance, Dickov will score goals (although he may not get into double figures). He at least deserves a 4/10 for the pest factor IMO.
WHAT A JOKE
It might be me, but I personally think Richards is a bit over hyped. To score the same points as Barton is a bit optimistic (in my opinion). Without Barton I am pretty sure we would have gone down, without Richards I dont think there would have been much difference. Dont get me wrong, I think he is a class player but I just dont see why there is so much hype surrounding him and Nedum (who I think is a better defender) hardly gets a mention. Put it this way, if Chelski came in with the reported offer of 15 million plus, I think the money would be worth more to City than Richards (playing at right back) would. For example, an 8 million pound forward and an 8 million pound creative midfielder or a good right back (which we also have cover for)? I go with the midfielder and the forward anytime, but that is just my opinion.
Vassell should hhve got a 4 or 5 at most. He has had more time to settle than Corradi, Dickov (who oknly ever played at Maine Road) and Samaras. He should have been our number one established striker that set the example yet time and again he wasn't interested.
When you look at our team its pretty much a disgrace, we have one player who would bring in more than 6 million i.e. Micah Richards. All the rest are 2 million pound players at best!! (with the odd exception of Dunne, Barton and maybe Onouha). Therefore I believe we are a good Championship team at the moment. Whether or not this takeover goes ahead, we need a decent Manager and about 6 or 7 decent signings (preferably in the 3-6 million bracket.) i.e Pazzini, Aliadiere, Yakubu, Reo-Coker, Benayoun, Etherington, Downing, Richardson, Geremi, Bridge, Hoyte, Nolan, Crouch, Rossi, Gonzalez, Hypia etc. Without this calibre of player we will continue to compete with the likes of Sheff U, Wigan and Sunderland!!! When really we should be competing with Newcastle, Liverpool, Tottenham especially when you look at our fan base, facilities etc. I am slowly feeling enough is enough and if we continue like we are at the moment then I'll never watch Man City ever again!!!
JamesP, I agree with what you are saying but please stop mentioning Richardson in your posts! Watching him is about as much fun as toothe ache! I would happily take any of the other players but I dont rate Richardson at all and if he didnt play for the Rags the closest he would get to the England Squad was if he bought the official world cup sticker book!
Won only 2 games out of 13 in the Premiership when Ireland started, too slow and light a liability 2.
Could I ask that the MEN do all us City fans a favour and find out the REAL issues surrounding the club at this current time rather than posting stories designed to infuriate us and deflect flak or is the possibility of someone doing some real journalism too much to ask
The other week you posted a story saying the takeover was in the bag , the City were talking to other parties. Now Silence !! ... SURELY SOMEONE WOULD HAVE CONTACTED THE CLUB FOR A STATEMENT TO STEADY THE FANS BY NOW ?
'Stories' like this exist only to give the moaners an excuse to have a summer whinge. Tommy brings out his tedious Stephen Ireland fixation yet again - you might as well say Micah Richards is rubbish because he missed most of the matches in the good run in March and April which secured our Premiership safety. Tommy, give it a rest.
Samaras "clearly has talent"!!! Talent for what?
Please, please. please find out what is going on at the COMS. I, along with many, many more City fans are getting anxious with the curretn situation.
This article is basically a waste of space and I really don't care what each player scored out of ten when we've had possibly our worst season since I started attending games 30 years ago.
I would like to ask Mr Bailey a question - do you actually know anybody who is on the 'inside' and if so please speak to him/her and stop us all speculating on who is/isn't going to takeover the club. If we go into next season with the current owners and squad we WILL GO DOWN into obscurity.
I'm trying to Keep the Faith. CTID
NEVER MIND THIS TOSH, WHAT'S GOING ON WITH FRANK?
WHAT ABOUT THE TAKEOVER?
sod the stats do something useful,go get some imfo ,or cant you get out of your chairs at men.sick of this rubbish ,sort it now, have a trip to coms if you know where it is get some imfo for the fans you know we who pay 550.00 a year we deserve better form the board and you at men
I do not want wish to be reminded how garbage most of the players were this season, MEN. We want to move on from the Pearce disaster. Please go and do some proper journalism instead of this drivel and find out what is happening.
