DON'T panic! That's the message from Macclesfield's returning hero Steve Payne who believes that, with 12 games to go, there is still plenty of time to turn the club's season around.

Payne added: "The team were understandably very edgy in my first game against Darlington last week, and we seem to need a bit more belief, a bit more passion."

Payne will line up alongside a new central defensive partner with Steve Macauley having pulled a calf muscle. Michael Welch is likely to deputise.

There is better news for George Abbey, who limped off after only 25 minutes of the Darlington defeat but is expected to be ready for the short trip to Huddersfield.

LAST SEASON: Different divisions.
