MACCLESFIELD have admitted they are co-operating with a Football Association enquiry into alleged financial irregularities at the club.

Speaking at the club's annual general meeting, Macclesfield chairman Rob Bickerton issued a statement saying: "The club is co-operating fully with the FA who are conducting an enquiry concerning alleged irregularities connected with the provision of grant funding from the Football Foundation for ground improvement purposes.

"The FA compliance unit has spent time at the club and has been provided with documentation relating to the funding of the McAlpine Stand and IT centre.

"We understand this enquiry may expand in future to involve others outside the club." Tweet
