Macclesfield Town

Preview: Macclesfield Town v Cheltenham Town

THE two off-form teams of Division Three meet in a classic relegation six-pointer when Cheltenham visit the Moss Rose.

Macclesfield have taken only five points from their last 21, while the Robins have just six from their last seven games.

Macc will be without top scorer Matthew Tipton, who pays for his petulance after kicking the ball away in the 85th minute of the defeat at Torquay.

John Miles will link up with a rejuvenated Martin Carruthers up front. Left back Danny Adams is also kicking his heels facing the last of his three match ban, so the on-loan Jon Beswetherick will be given another chance to earn a long term contract.

Veteran Steve Macauley is certain to line up alongside Karl Munroe.

Chris Priest is rated doubtful with a foot injury and if the captain fails to recover then either of the youngsters Michael Carr and Steve Brackenridge could be given another chance in midfield.

LAST SEASON: Different divisions

KEY OPPONENT: Peter Hynes - striker on loan from Aston Villa.

PREDICTION: Macclesfield 2 Cheltenham 1
