MACCLESFIELD centre half Matt Haddrell is set for a big physical battle against Oxford's 6ft 4ins striker Julian Alsop.
With Karl Munroe suspended, Steve Macauley still out injured and loan man Rob Edwards out with an ankle knock, it means a return for Michael Welch whose sending off against Southend heralded the exit of David Moss.
Club skipper David Flitcroft is keen to get his first outing under Askey, but may have to settle for another berth on the bench, with Chris Priest and Tommy Widdrington beginning to form a cohesive midfield partnership.
With Colin Little suspended, John Miles, who created both goals in the 2 - 2 draw against Scunthorpe, is a certain starter. Steve Hitchen is also itching at the start line and may replace George Abbey who has a back strain.
Oxford have lost only once this season and are at last beginning to revive the former glories of players such as Aldridge, Houghton and Charles.
LAST SEASON: Oxford 0 Macclesfield 1.
