A THRILLING encounter ended in disappointment for Macclesfield as they surrendered a win to a Colin Cameron strike deep in injury time.
It denied the Silkmen a victory over their former boss Paul
Ince, who decamped to Milton Keynes in the summer.
After a stuttering opening, Macc went a goal behind when keeper
Tommy Lee failed to stop a skidding Keith Andrews' drive that
brushed his fingers before crashing in off the post.
But they equalised on 33 minutes when new striker Francis Green
moved on to an Adam Murray long ball before lobbing the keeper from
25 yards.
Fellow new striker Martin Gritton then scored within three minutes
of his debut as a substitute with a sharp reaction volley after a
Carl Regan header had been cleared off the line.
Green, who was brought to the club by Ince in the close season,
made it three on 63 minutes with a stunning 25 yard drive into the
top corner. But a snap volley from Leon Knight and Cameron's late
strike had Ince punching the air.
